In this video you will see two Vintage Lionel Freight Trains exchange the ovals on which they were previously traveling. This was accomplished using the group of four electric switches seen at the top of the video. The switches are operationally arranged in pairs, two on the left side of center, and two on the right side. When the two left-most switches are moved to “red” (curved position), the approaching train enters the inside oval. Similarly, when the two right-most switches are moved to “red”, the approaching train on the inner oval will transit to the outside. Any transition is followed by setting all switches back to “green” (straight through). Careful collision avoidance timing is required when two trains occupy the outer oval.
