I'm argentinian and I can tell why he reacted like this. Besides the meaning of winning a world championship for our country, this man was heavily criticized when he was named national team's coach. National press was against it because they stated he didn't have experince coaching major leagues or even a national team. He was referred as "The newbie coach" and no one had faith in him. Argentinian Media gave this man a really really hard time... But he showed us all that he's an amazing coach and that he really loves his country. Amazing person!

Oh, man, his face remains impassive but that tension is there, building and building and building. After each kick, he has to move, drink water, re-set his strength. I can't imagine how he was suffering (well, yes I can a bit because I was suffering, too) When the wonderful conclusion hits, he is in total shock. I think he revisits those memories of when he was a player and hadn't achieved winning the cup, and there's that moment when you see him allow himself that tiny little smile, when the shock allows a moment of belief. They had done it! This made me cry! Love it! Does anyone know if there's an interview with him describing his feelings that moment?
