Curious, what major would someone like this go into, asking cuz I live building things like this.
@jacobb13847 ай бұрын
@@KingofShorts08 Hello good sir, back in highschool I was plagued by the same question... I loved building cool stuff as a kid. It started with legos and evolved to PCs, 3D printers, robots, and electronic music projects. When it came time to choose a major, my philosophy was to go any direction as long as I got to employ all the skills I loved such as designing, being creative, coding, and learning/applying science. With all that being said, I chose to study mechanical engineering with a focus in robotics and automation (other universities call that mechatronics). If you love the process of designing, testing, and implementing solutions to interesting problems then you should check out engineering. Its the practical application of science. There are 3 main branches of engineering: 1 Mechanical - focused on materials, machines, motion, and their design (Think engines, gears, pulleys, any physical machine that does some kind of work) 2 Electrical - focused on electricity, circuit design, analog and digital logic/processes, and signals (they design solutions that involve electronic devices such as motors, logic circuits, navigation devices, radio transmitters, etc...) 3 Civil - focused on buildings, transportation, and resource infrastructure (Think roads, buildings, water systems, drainage, city planning, bridges, basically all the logistics people need day to day). Any other realm of engineering you might hear of is usually a specialization or combination of the big three^. (Well except chemical engineering which is definitely unique in many regards). There are lots of ways to mix and match. The trick is finding a combination/specialization that suits your interests and sills. If you love coding and building things, then mechatronics may be great fit! If you dislike the mechanics and love the logic and coding then mabye software engineering. Otherwise maybe you just love the engineering process, designing unique solutions, and being creative with the tools/resources around you. If that's the case theres even more areas that you can't go wrong with such as aerospace, chemical, systems, architectural, structural, etc... It's about about finding and creating solutions to needs/problems! If that's something you enjoy then keep fostering your passion with projects, classes, and look for ways to grow your skills and community!
