The last one wasn't a "gimmie" like the first was though. He threw a good ball on 2nd down and it was better defended. 3rd down was an underthrow that should have been a pick... then penalty. Took a whole team to get to a 4th and 25 in your own territory... and then a solid desperation throw that could have just as easily been picked as caught

I think this game shows that Mahomes can’t do it all himself. He is the best Quarterback in the league no doubt. But He needs a reliable target like Kielce to help him. Then again give credit to the Lions D for getting those pressures in and making Mahomes uncomfortable. That Oline better get it together, or it’s gunna be a long season for the Chiefs.

It just goes to show how important Kelce really is for this offense, like the play was there on so many of those snaps, and you'd think at least one of them would have targeted Kelce who certainly wouldn't have dropped them

Wasn't for toney? Lions could have won by 12, Reynolds doesn't fumble in the red zone cheifs recover on 7 yard line. Lions run time out on cheifs 20 say they short 3rd down kick field go up 4 points . Had 2 possible interceptions go right through Lions defenders hands.. Lions excuse is could have won by more I guess. Shoulda coulda on both sides

Patty did not play well tonight. He didn’t play terrible or anything, but he was rusty as well. Considering the talent he inherited coming into the league, he’s got nothing to complain about. I’d argue only a handful of QB’s have ever had what he’s had coming into the league.

@@Ekim1740 Mahomes is not an accurate QB. All advanced stats show that. He’s special with what he does outside of the pocket and the time he buys for his fast receivers results in not needing elite accuracy. Mix this with his ability to get power on the ball while on the move and you have the best start to any career for any QB ever with the current NFL rules. But he’s never been an accurate QB especially while in the pocket. His QBR rating in the pocket drops below average multiple times a season.

Yeah, dude had some drops. But the biggest reason there was no 4th Quarter Miracle for the Chiefs like always is the Refs finally started calling all the holding and jumping early by the O-Line. LOL'd when announcer said dude was lined up at Slot WR.

With only half of the dynamic duo out there, you see what happened. Just wait and see what happens if Mahomes has some kind of season-ending, or career-ending, injury.

@@JonHop1 As good as Mahomes is, you can't win games on your own. He's the reason they were able to only lose by 1, a weaker QB would've seen a larger deficit with the way the Lions defense was playing.
