Learn basic muscle movements and functions with Ms. Kristen, a real Orofacial Myofunctional Coach. Have fun learning! Strengthening all the muscles in our bodies help our bodies grow and develop the best way possible. This video focuses on muscles of the tongue and lips.
Note: In my practice, I have found littles are more likely to engage in the exercises if others are.
Training the tongue tip to learn the "spot" where it goes when we say L, D, or N sounds, tongue-clicks or tongue-pops, humming, and lifting the soft palate to say "ahh" may strengthen a variety of tongue and mouth muscles. Lip exercises that bring the lips together and use the orbicularis oris and lip elevator and depressor muscles may help strengthen correct lip posture.
