I understand your concern about what people said. However, I hope you reach a point where you are secure enough to not let those kind of comments affect you. For future reference, it’s probably more humble to say something like, “I will be out of town for a few weeks. Would you like me to do a Vlog while I’m away?” That way it doesn’t seem like you are bragging about your cool trip. Aloha!

WARNING! DO NOT GET THE LIP LIFT. I work in the entertainment industry and know 2 professional actors that had their careers ruined by getting a lip lift. I know an actress who had her career completely ruined by a lip lift because it changed her speech, and made her articulation of most words sound funny. I also know a actor who had his film/tv career ruined by a lip lift and can now only do theater acting. He had a lip lift in 2015 and the scar under his nose never went away. No matter how much make up they put on him you notice a scar under his nose when they do a close up of his face. In fact when they do a close up of his face with a 4K camera the scare is overexaggerated and looks even bigger on film than it does in real life.

I do notice that sometimes when you say a word that needs both lips, like a 'p', it seems the lips do not touch completely, but only sometimes. I have a facial paralysis on the right side of my face due to a brain tumor and it is very hard for me to say words that need both lips, so I notice it on other people that have the same struggle, like I look for it. I am very subconscious of my face due to the paralysis so I notice slight asymmetries on people.

I wouldn’t recommend this procedure . You lose functionality of your mouth and your “smile” if deformed for around 6 months . The risks outweigh the benefit . And you NEED a doctor who specializes in lip lift because it requires such meticulous suturing . I wish I would have just stuck to fillers . I’m 3 months PO and I still have crazy tightness/stiffness. For example I cant open my mouth all the way to eat and can’t smile without feeling like my face is ripping apart. Of course doctors will never tell you! Biggest regret ever

Look, movement...and speech, as mentioned. If badly done, saying "base", and 'specifically" mat be difficult, for example, In combination with what is going on with the cheeks, and the speech,, it is an uncomfortable experience foe the "audience", just in my opinion. It's personal choice i think, whether you d rake the risk It's one of the procedures, if it ever gone down the surgery path, that I proba my would have LIKED done myself whether or not I'd have gone ahead, i dont know. It's done bot only to shorten the distance but to increase upper lip size, to even out lower and upper lip size if there is a disparity.

dana s Hi Dana; thanks so much ! You’re right in that most lip lifts done today try to leave muscle alone but (this is a huge but) the docs in Beverly Hills; the ones who kinda pioneered the lip lift are unfortunately still involving the muscle hemming technique although at least it’s the third type I mentioned which involves less muscle hemming.

@@LorryHill Hello Lorry, I am a maxillofacial surgeon from Germany and I do a lot of Bullhorn Plasties. I can assure you that it is completely unnecessary to tighten the muscle. Touching the muscle only leads to unnecessary complications and no better result. It is sufficient to sew the deeper subcutaneous layers with long-term absorbable threads so that there is no tension on the skin. It is totally uncharacteristic that healing takes so long after this kind of procedure. I do that procedure under local anesthesia and after that no pain is expected. It also heals very quickly and the swelling can hardly be seen after a week. In addition, every fee over 1000 Euros for this procedure is exaggerated!

I don't like how some viewers are speaking third person about you, as if you weren't even there. It's your channel after all. So, I will speak directly to you. I just found your channel, and you seem very honest, forthright, and genuine. I feel you explain everything so thoroughly and intelligently. I didn't even realize liplifting was a thing until recently. I have to be honest, I personally am not a fan of the procedure... except possibly in rare circumstances. I didn't like the after results in any of the pics except one. But, overall I much preferred the "natural" before lips. You are a beautiful woman and I thought you were naturally beautiful and stunning woman in your before pics. I don't think you needed any procedure done whatsoever. You are obviously still gorgeous! I just feel that we are living in a society where women always feel the need to improve things that are quite appealing and natural in search of perfection. Perfection will never be obtained, and those who do so end up with very unnatural and odd looking faces and bodies. That being said, I am 61 and I still feel like I look fairly young. However, the last year or so I have had alot of stressful things...(haven't we all?) and I can see the unappealing changes on my face. So, if I had plenty of cash, I would definitely consider some facial rejuvenaton. Lip lifting is not something any surgeon could ever talk me in to, but to each their own. Everyone needs to be happy in their own skin. No outer beauty though can ever make up for a heart that is fulfilled and contented.

@@alexandramiller4098 Every operation is NOT guaranted to end up well,it's done by humans after all also nobody could possibly predict the results as nobody know how your body will react. I had hooded eyes and removed the skin by blepharoplasty and you know what? I regret I didn't do it EARLIER. I finally have the eyes I wanted very proportional to my face and now I can apply eyeshadows properly. As for scars, YES,you will have them. How can not you have them when your skin is literally cut. The good thing in 1 year you can cover up with permanent tattoo. I am going to have one,the artist uses the tone of your skin pigment to cover and you'd barely notice anything after. As for bullhorn I will definitely DO that.There are 23 cm gap between my nose and lip which is abnormally long. Imagine how far is my lip from the nose. I look a lot older cause of it and I am only 30. Soon it will droop even more, I will look like Grinch. So yes,I go rather for a scar than looking like Grinch.

For the small “improvement” to your lips, vs the pain, scarring, numbness, and visible impact on some of the letters you speak, I agree it would have been better for you to have waited until 1) the procedure has had years to improve, and 2) you yourself were a little older and maybe needed it more than at your current age. Please keep in mind, lovely lady, that youth itself is beauty, and you have scads of both! Thank you for this honest and informative video.

No matter how much make up they put on him you notice a scar under his nose when they do a close up of his face. In fact when they do a close up of his face with a 4K camera the scare is overexaggerated and looks even bigger on film than it does in real life.

Lorry, this is one procedure I think is dreadful. In those photos everyone looked just fine …. before. Who decides what the perfect measurement is from nose to lip? It’s just a western world construct and what might be attractive to a certain percentage of the western world is not to the rest. And it could all change tomorrow. I am getting fed up with Hollywood and in particular the film industry dictating what measurements equal ‘beauty’. Individuality surely is what acting should be about - true acting anyway. I appreciate your channel but this video has really left me feeling quite p’d off - just the very idea of a lip lift - and all the pain and expense so someone (male) looks at you and thinks you look attractive. It’s beyond fathomable to me.

I'm curious if you could share if you ended up with a speech impediment that you had to deal with, like Lorry. I imagine there are probably options available nowdays to help fix it, but knowing my luck... I am considering having one, but that scares me more than anything. It's like you can tell that the mouth doesn't close properly. It almost seems like the top and bottom lip don't sit together straight or something.

Right as you started to describe the bullhorn lip lift, I couldn't stop looking at your lips and realized that you had it done before you said you actually had it done! Thanks for being honest, but it is very noticeable! And you also mentioned the nasally sound could stand out more, which I've been noticing now more I hear a little bit in your voice. I appreciate you doing these videos especially for people to realize that the amount of work that goes into wealthy people to look to the level of perfection that sometimes we think as humans need to be, aren't actually themselves. I realized this for years, I'm just a true artist with makeup and just being happy with who I am. But I know not everyone is and I'm glad that you're able to explain to them every little tidbit about the work people get done and what it might cause in the long run, or even make you more unhappy. So always do your research!

I wonder what people have had done that makes them look more appealing and I often cannot figure it out. Your knowledge and research and understanding of plastic surgery helps me understand what surgeries people do to improve their look. Don’t read the comments when people are shitty. Don’t let it absorb. This is exactly why the movie stars don’t admit they had it done because people can suck with their insensitive judgements of others. This is just my opinion, but in looking at all those photos of Lorry Hill just BEFORE her "Lip lift" , I actually think that Lorry did NOT need a Lip Lift....Lorry had great lips even before her lip surgery. Plus, raising her upper lip upward, only made her top lip look like it is somewhat paralyzed. Therefore, I am not sure if that lip "paralyzed look" will get better as time passes. Thus, if I were Lorry, it probably would be best if she had no more lip surgeries, in order to allow her upper lip to relax again. Once Lorry's upper lip "relaxes" I think her lips will look less robotic because sometimes things are best left alone, especially when it comes to facial surgeries...In a nutshell: We all age. We cannot stop aging. It will happen. Aging gracefully is a good thing, imho, and BIG TWEEKS are often not needed. I can understand that a small tweeks, for those in the stop-light, are almost an addiction since so many Celebrities do it. But there are actresses that are aging gracefully, and they look so nice, so approachable, so natural.

I really do admire your honesty about this procedure because this is one scary procedure. are you able to close your lips at all? Or do you have to make an effort? Im currently researching this a lot and even to this date, Im thinking it’s a no go. First it was the scarring I was afraid of, and now it’s the speech impediment and now it’s about the ability to close the lips. Thanks for giving me a platform to voice my fears. Also another thing I never thought of is, the possibility of the scar maturing and pulling the lip up even farther than is aesthetically pleasing as the scar matures over the years😟

@javiruiz9876
@javiruiz9876 4 жыл бұрын
I think it really depends on the person! the problem, in my humble opinion, is that many of the people that get this surgery done do not actually need it. I mean, I think the best candidates are those people who have a longer philtrum and do NOT have a big upper lip: long philtrum and and thin upper lip. Also, that the distance that is cut is somewhere between 0.2 to 0.5 mm. But if you're a good candidate and are very careful you can have such great results, and once some time has passed you can decided whether you need a bit more volume on your lips or not. This would be a great example of a great result. Would like to know opinions if the distance cut between upper and the base of the nose is key on having a great outcome? :) The scar is barely visible, actually I would say almost no one would notice it!. Btw, this channel is really great. It made me realize many things, and helps breaking many of the stigmas that exist about surgery or treatments. Although, many would appreciate more examples of men were shown and explained. For example, when it comes to lip lifts less women should get this done and more men cause the philtrum is longer in males (that's a more masculine feature actually) but that also makes many males have a bit too long philtrum and would get a subtle and good result. Opinions and views are appreciated, if I'm wrong I can always stand correct!

When is this craziness going to end? When we fixate on our features, our perception goes haywire. I'vd just experienced it myself tonight...agonized about a perceived fault, took a picture...then had this image of what I looked like in my head for the whole evening. But when I looked at the photo again I realized that I had somehow 'blown' the fault up in my head and the photo looked nothing like it. There is a multi million racket feeding off induced body dysmorphia. We should stand up, each own her unique, idiosyncratic loveliness and boycott this industry of obsession and misery.

Hi Kristiana; your kind words are so appreciated! Thank you so much ! I may have the scar revised or just redo it?

Refreshing! Lovely to watch. The only reason why I considered a lip lift was to stop with ever getting filler. Filler can create a more dimensional protrusion (if done wrong) and look duck like from a profile view. I personally like the lip lift due to the decrease in Philtrum distance. Gives a youthful appearance. In my opinion. If you look at any ethnicity or gender baby for instance their philtrim will be very very short hence one of the reasons a baby face looks like a baby face amongst couple other factors, like cheek fullness etc . Unfortunately the more we age, the more gravity pulls on our face and creates distance between the philtrum , as you know. :) love your channel.

Well, I was a baby with an extremely long philtrum, and it still is very long, +2cm, yet people always say I look younger. So it can't be that crucial for youthfulness of the face?

You are such a beautiful woman you always looked good also without surgery dont harm your body so much with so much surgery. Its so sad what we do to our gorgeous bodies. We are perfect with all these mistakes. I do botox and see a doctor regulary for it and every time when i am there he shoots a picture of my face to check before and after and each time he says how croocked my face is and that i need fillers to safe it. 😁 who cares. Its not important what others think. Beauty is not a perfect look its charisma. Happiness is not depending on beauty its an inner acceptance. Love you❤️

I think your pain experience was unique. I had this done almost 3 weeks ago and took some Tylenol for a day only. It’s not an easy road but this video would’ve scared me away from something I’m very happy with now.

Not unique at all!! Go read all the real self accounts of people who got lip lifts that cut muscle. You obviously had a skin only it’s completely different .

i've been considering getting a lip lift in the future but not too seriously; i did NOT think about possible side effects that you've mentioned here! i will surely take my time digging deeper and learning as much as I can about the procedure before taking any steps further in this direction. thanks!
