Thanks for video, my pool turn some yellow algae on the wall and some in spas , what chemical to treat for it and my pool used trichlorine tablets feeder first time have a pool want to know how to take care of it, need help 🙏.

As a homeowner, I use liquid chlorine for low cost and out of concern of raising calcium hardness levels when using Cal-Hypo. For dosing, I installed a Stenner Econ FX pump (7.5 gallons per day) and mounted it to the Stenner 7.5 gallon tank, and tapped into the pool return line. I used a spare relay on our Pentair Easy Touch 8 to schedule the pump on each night for 1 hour. As this is the first summer with the pump, I am still trouble shooting the right amount. As I only keep 50 ppm CYA in the pool, I want to be sure I’m not burning off chlorine unnecessarily. In Texas, I get a 2.5 gallon jug refill of chlorine (10.5%) for $10.66.

I recently purchased liquid chlorine the same as shown in this video in the yellow tub they advised me not to store the liquid chlorine in my garage. Is it a good idea to store it in a rubber maid container outside where it will not be in sunlight but during summer the temperature is around 97-105 degrees any advice will help me out thanks 🙏 also just subscribed

Great video! Question: can high CYA (100+) cause a salt cell to read low salt and shut off? I came across a pool with well over 100 CYA. The salt level was solid but the cell continues to do a low salt shut off. The reason for this question is the owner does not want to purchase a new salt cell and wants to switch to tabs if the cell is dead. I did a full drain and refill of the pool. If high CYA has no correlation to a cell displaying low salt then I will pass on throwing several hundred pounds of salt back into the pool..and I’ll just switch them over to tabs. I’m using calhypo tabs in the skimmer and liquid once maybe twice a week. Every so often I’ll switch to Tri Chlor and i feel like the water Is much more clear when I do. Do calhypo tabs cause the water to be a little cloudy in general ? Also, have you ever used/have any experience with the zero or low chlorine systems like zero chlor, clear comfort etc…? What are your thoughts?

Cal Hypo does keep its strength for a long time, I love it for that. I heard you talk about losing 1 ppm a day. I've lost like 5 during the day. How do you do that? How do you get it to stay that long? 40 ppm CYA at the time.

I have a 55,000 gallon plaster pool. Bromine is our sanitizer. I have been having trouble getting the bromine to bank this season. Water tests show the bromine levels to be .65 .85 with my brominater all the way open. Any suggestions on what shock to use, liquid chlorine better? Non-oxidizing shock? Thank love your videos. My PH has been sitting around 7.4, alkalinity a little high 130-135, calcium hardness has been around 330. Been fighting a tad cloudy water having trouble making it crystal clear.

Great pod cast! I use liquid chlorine to augment my ichlor salt system. My CYA is at 50 and ichlor set to 75%. I have trouble keeping the free chlorine above 4ppm with the ichlor on 10 hrs a day in a 7K gal. pool. Just slammed pool to 19 ppm last week. I’m in Florida. Should I raise my CYA level?

Could you shock weekly with cal-hypo and leave one trichlor tablet for the week's maintenance chlorine. I use liquid and trichlor tablets together now, but I am tired of carrying the 2 1/2 gallon jugs back to the pool.

Don't use clor-brit unless you're a salt pool. CYa

I was using trichlor shock but I noticed that the cya levels were creeping up really fast. Had to make the switch to cal hypo shock .

I am having a problem with my salt cell clogging up with calcium after two days. What should I use to shock and is there a way to test for calcium levels.

Good morning ☀️. Sorry to Ask you one more time. So if I put DE in the skimmer all kind of filters sand DE cartilage. Dose it clogged the all filters over time since u put it direct to skimmer calcium calcium build up on thsoe filters. Or when I back wash or clean them it will rinse away. Thanks

Can you mix liquid chlorine and cal hypo at during the same service visit at a pool?

would the next billion dollar product be Chlorine tablets that do NOT increase CYA and Calcium Hardness? seems like you either gotta go with one or the other if using tablets, unless just using liquid chlorine only which is inconvenient sometimes

Just moved into a home with a 60k gallon pool. Really don’t want to use tablets purely cause I don’t want to empty it when cya levels get too high. The last homeowner left two huge buckets of cal hypo. Can I use cal hypo in place of chlorine all together? Just for moneys sake. Or is cal hypo specifically only for shocking?

Can I just add chlorine to shock the pool. How often should I shock with 12.5 hasa chlorine. 9888 gallons.

I do 1 lb to 1 gallon

So 1 gallon of 12.5% liquid chlorine is equivalent to 1lb of cal hypo?
