I know everyone brings up Diablo Cody but no one talks about how it was directed by Zelda Williams, Robin Williams daughter. I hope she does more horror movies, this was so much fun.

I interpreted the ending as Lisa got raised from the dead like the creature was, not her faking her death but maybe I got confused lmao

Oh, he definitely brought her back. She wanted him to - that's why she wrote the note that said, "Death is temporary" and drew the lightning bolt on it. Then, if you look at her tombstone at the end, there's a crack in it like it was hit by lightning. ⚡❤

I agree with your interpretation! We saw Lisa in the tanning bed get flambéed five ways to Sunday, so I don't think there was any faking that. When you see her grave, it's been hit by lightning just like The Creature's was. She's clearly in the process of regeneration at the end when you see him reading to her on the bench. I wonder who and how many people kicked the can so Lisa could get her body back!

this is Liza Soberano's (Taffy) Hollywood debut after her career in the philippines, and she absolutely nailed the character, proud of her so much. this is also Zelda Williams (Robin William's daughter) directorial debut

Taffy was easily the best character in the film. They could've easily done the usual stereotype of the step-sibling being antagonistic towards the protagonist. But they actually do the exact opposite where Taffy is an absolute sweetheart who is very supportive of Lisa, is always there for her, wants to be best friends with her, and wants her to feel welcomed into the family. That was such a refreshing change of pace.

I LOVED this movie, it was so much fun to watch! It genuinely felt like I was watching a ‘90’s classic. Also, I really liked that Taffy was not the typical bitchy step-sister. The fact that she kept the rosary that Lisa gave her was so sweet.

Hey quick question but does anyone else think that Dale (Lisa's Dad) was the guy behind the mask that murdered Lisa's mom? I mean after everything that he had gone through. First wife murdered, daughter possibly being a serial killer, your second wife goes missing then found dead, and finally you come home to find your daughter dead in you backyard shed because of a fire. He is just too calm and almost unfazed by it all. Also with how fast he moved on after wife number one dies. Sus. I am just saying I don't think Lisa was the only killer in the family and let's not even mention the family AXE. Lisa's mom died by an axe murder. Lisa and the Creature kill with an AXE. IDK. I feel it in my waters that DALE is NOT INNOCENT. What do you think?

The movie remind me also of "Heathers" with a touch of Burton movies like Beetlejuice. The movie is directed my Zeld Williams (Robin Williams daughter). Kathryn did a great job. Love the reaction as always

In that case I wouldn't be surprised if some of Lisa's classmates also knew Jennifer mom. Jennifer mom had her young, so it would align that she may have went to school with them.

I don’t remember if it was talked about in the movie, but for those who don’t know: the moon is a reference to the Man on the Moon from “Le voyage dans la lune” by Georges Melies, which is often considered the first time film was used as a narrative long form outside of nickelodeons and shorts.

what makes me want to watch the movie is that it's the first time i see an adaptation of Frankestein where the creature is canonically handsome, like in the Shelley's novel... also i needed mainstream culture to openly aknowledge that we are obsessed with 80s subcultures, dark fantasy and post punk, like "ooh y2k is making a comeback, 70s mullets are makin a comeback" bitch, that suit i saw in stores, that maxi dress and that sleek blowout i'm yearning for are full on 80s so cut the crap, we need some 80s representation u.u

So I watched a brief interview of the director and she said they took a lot of inspiration from Edward Scissorhands, Rocky horror picture show (you can see Franken furdue’r (sp?) in the moon poster) also Tim Burton. 🥰 I love that you guys reacted to this.

I think the same area too. Most Diablo Cody written movies take place in like, Minnesota I think. They mention Milwaukee, Wisconsin in this movie and they made it sound like it wasn’t all that far.

9:34 Cody, Sergio! After a few rewatches of this movie which has become a guilty pleasure of mine, absolutely obsessed with the chemistry between Lisa and Coles character in this movie🩵!! Anyways! This scene, the scene with the soap and then how it liquifies and dribbles down their hands, I realized it was symbolism for her touching herself in her sleep and that was her finishing 😭😆🤣😂 Completely flew past my head until I rewatched it a second time to solve any confusions☠️😭😆🤣😂

So I got a show recommendation. I just finished watching a tv show called From & I think you’d love it. It’s an amazing show, 2 seasons and it will have a season 3. It’s like if Lost and Stephen King had a baby. It’s a great watch and I think it would be an enjoyable watch for both of you and us.

Love you guys and watch every video but I have to skip this one, given all of the allegations that have been against Cole Sprouse over the years. Can't watch a video that gives attention to anything he does because, if the allegations are true, he's a manipulative, narcissistic abuser who has pushed two women a mental health breaking point.
