ayyyli I disagree actually. Most of her comment section that I see is her more mature audience criticizing modern makeup trends and bashing other gurus left and right. It's a little tiring to see all that negativity in my opinion

Cindy Webb The only women who suited those heavy brows were the starlets of the 50's and 60's i.e.: Elizabeth Taylor, Audrey Hepburn et al. The ones I've seen recently make me draw back in horror. Let's hope this fad dies a death shortly. Awful! X

I would have never thought about using kind of cold pink as a blush to orangy-red lips. It looks amazing and it makes the whole look elegant and modern and sophisticated! It's amazing that in a world full of makeup tutorials you can teach something new, it's a great gift and talent, it shows that being a makeup artist is not about putting perfect bronzer and draw perfect brows, but it's about understanding how things interact and how to give a certain feeling to the whole look

So first things first: you are SO pretty and this particular look is extremely flattering on you. You look like a porcelain doll. With that being said, it is not often that you encounter someone who’s one of the most influential people in their field (just like you are in makeup) being so generous with their time, resources, skills, etc. You do it freely and one can tell you’re more than happy to share that with all of us, it’s also worth noting that the quality of your tutorials is top notch. Truly invaluable gift you are giving us and many generations to come. Last but not least, I just wanna say I’m fully convinced that you could get your hands literally on some kitchen grease, a dog turd and some crayons, gently swipe them across your face and create a flawless, glowing and stunning look. Lisa, could you please do another look on a mature model on how to do your eyes when the outer lids are drooping and you get a downward wrinkle at corner of eyes that pulls everything down? I'm desperate for tips and tricks.

Sarah Kalnajs I would love to see this as well. Makeup looks for women over 40 is something that is sadly under represented across the makeup tutorial genre. It really does require techniques that are modified, although most every trend can be used, not all are going to be as flattering. For example, contouring the cheekbones can often make a thin mature face look skeletal and not plump and youthful. Contouring is still great to utilize, but in an appropriate way that creates the look of a firm jawline and contrast around the hairline, for example, and not to make the loss of volume more mature faces can sometimes lose, more pronounced. Lisa knows her stuff and I would love to see more of what she could teach! She does happen to have a few videos that demonstrate makeup on mature ladies, although these are on models who, perhaps have had fillers and do not represent most women who are experiencing things like fine lines, crepey skin texture issues and a loss of volume that naturally occur.

kwiet23 I absolutely agree. It's so frustrating to see all these young girls applying makeup so easily and flawless, while we 40+ women struggle day by day to look half way decent. I can't pull off a good makeup look to save my life, so I'd be forever grateful for some advice. ☺

I downloaded the app and I have to say that I am very impressed with the accuracy of the "makeup application". It aligned everything so naturally and I had a 3/4 view angle of the face (and I didn't fine-tune any of the settings) .

My favourite thing about this video is that you take a relatively simple look but are able to pack in so many tips and tricks that I would otherwise not get from a 5-minute version of this tutorial. Do you think you could do a video on how to wear blush? I am quite confused on how one would match it to their skin colour, undertone, lipstick, etc.

I love how restrained and finely tuned a genuine professional makeup artist is with their choices. Don't get me wrong, I'm as much a fan of all the big youtube MUAs with their Tarte collabs etc but you can just see the difference in the specificity of technique and aesthetic.

As a hooded eyed girl I see no point in wearing eyeshadow. Lol. It doesn't show anyway, unless my eyes are shut or I'm blinking. Haha. Whatever I do, only my eye liner shows up. So yeah. That's why I really like this eye look.

Karishma Singh funnily enough I have quite hooded eyes and it's the other way around for me, I can't wear eyeliner like this, and I love smoky eyes!

The trick is to blend it up high enough. Keep your eyes open and keep blending until you see it above the hood of your eyes. I have hooded eyes too, this works for me. I have the same thing, I stay way from eyeliner because it makes my eyelids look very small. Lisa has a bunch of videos on this, and I recommend Stephanie Lange for more tutorials on this. Hope that helps!
