For me he was our player of the year...way ahead of anyone else. He had 3 bad games all season and 2 of those was with Maguire at the very start of the season...no one came close to his consistent level of performance both with and without the ball...none!

Listen varane has been amazing this season but it shocks me to hear people genuinely disregard Martinez and say varane is our best cb . Martinez is our future and our most important cb by far. this is how far utd have fallen. oppo literally targets Martinez because of his height. but u are suggesting that we turn a blind eye to that because he is slightly better than maguire. we should admit that elite defender will never be targretted because of their height. to make things worse, Even maguire never let 7 goal past him. esp at anfield.. Utd need to be ruthless. just look at city. they just won the Co but that didn't stop them to buy kovacic. Utd need another cb. or we will be in another degea like situation. @@asruluveira why does the national team place matter all of a sudden? Maguire starts for England ahead of people like Tomori and Ben White. And you know why that is? Because Maguire has been there longer and has been consistent in his performances for England. Licha will certainly be a starter at Argentina at some point, but even if he isn't I would not care one bit. I see what he does on the pitch despite his obvious height disadvantage and I feel comfortable in saying I would never put anyone ahead of him in that position. Every single player has deficiencies in their game, but it's how well you mask them that defines your ceiling. Licha is one of the best on ball CB's in the world, is tremendously aggressive and reads the game brilliantly. With Varane next to him, it all works and works well. And I beg people stop bringing up that Anfield game, it literally has never mattered. Pool put 7 past us and ended up with a failure of a season. One bad game shouldn't define a player, and certainly not a game where the entire cosmos combined to pile misery on us. It was a tremendous fluke for Pool to score 7 that day, and every single person on the pitch that day for us was responsible. I know however that you belong to narrow minority that hates him, and please by all means keep on doing it, cause you deserve to be miserable as you have the shittest opinion I have seen on the Internet today.

Licha is the actual definition of elite, his head never drops, and nearly the entire season up until he got injured he was 8/10 in 99% of the games. Say whatever you want, but I wouldn’t sway him for any other CB apart from maybe Alaba in world football rn.

If we would've gotten caicedo and kane in addition I would've said we were on our way to being ready to challenge,that's of course after privately training rashford on how to use his body,make better decisions and taught proper shooting techniques,and Antony on how to use his right foot,make better decisions and taught different ways to score as a right winger other than searching for the top corner

Maguire just turned the wrong way 😂. This one he put Licha under pressure immidiately and he had to solve it and he did. Maguire creating his own problems

For the most part the game has moved on, football is now played on the ground (unlike in Carragher's day) and moving forward there will a lot more smaller CB's who can play ball, but I don't think there will be many as good as Lisandro!
