What? He was bothered by the kids crying. U meant like public opinion?
Went on a flight where the guy sitting next to me got his chair kicked the entire three hour flight by a five year old boy behind him… the guy was so sweet about it and just turned around after landing to ask the boy to kindly stop kicking his chair while we pulled up on the tarmac. The mother stands up and says “don’t tell my child what to do” … I think maybe she had about two brain cells to rub together… he said that it was not polite and that the boy should know better … her response “don’t tell me how to raise my kid” … and we wonder why so many children today act so entitled 😒😪

If I overheard that encounter I would’ve offered $100 to trade seats with whoever was sitting directly behind that woman and would’ve kicked and punched her seat the rest of the flight. Dumb people need sense beat into them sometimes.
@TheNativeTwo2 жыл бұрын
That’s terrible. Ive had a different reaction. I asked a kid kicking my chair “could you please not kick my chair?” And the kid stopped and the mother was apologetic. I just said “its okay, that’s what kids do.” As a parent, it can be really hard to get kids not to do this type of shit. But if my kids bother someone i just apologize and go on about my day. Just do the best i can. Kids are difficult.

The guy that screamed back was right to do so. Children have to see that their actions have consequences by more people than just their parents. When my daughter threw a fit one time a lady chimed in.. “your daddy brought you to build a bear and you aren’t going to be nice to him,” and she realized she was being a brat and suddenly calmed down. It’s okay.

I can’t imagine the amount of stress and exhaustion those parents are under trying to calm their child and then the stress of knowing that the entire plane is having to listen to the crying. ( I know some of you might be thinking…well then the parents shouldn’t be flying) But sometimes families don’t have a choice, whatever the reason may be. If you know that you are a person who is incredibly sensitive to crying children while flying, I strongly suggest getting noise canceling headphones for yourself. Airplanes are public form of transportation, and every one has a right to use them. (including families with young children)

@lilmeyer49309 күн бұрын
@ILoveABBA12 do you realize that children are separate human beings from their parents? Sometimes there is little to nothing a parent can do to stop a child from losing their mind. Remember that children can't always control or contain their emotions, they're CHILDREN. A couple of years ago, I had to travel internationally with 5 of my kids by myself. I was so scared that there would be meltdowns, tantrums and tears, but thankfully (thank you Jesus 🙏🏼) all went pretty seamlessly. But it means that I have a great deal of compassion for parents trying their hardest and having to deal with not only their child, but the onlookers who can make you feel pretty awful.

@@jjnowna Well, eventually that’s the only way they’ll realise that strangers don’t have to put up with their screaming, and that other people also retaliate in anger to certain situations. It’s not the best way for them to learn it, but eventually someone who DOESNT have to listen to the sound of a kid screaming it’s head off in an enclosed public space, WONT listen to it any longer. They’ll take matters into their own hands, like the parent should’ve done in the first place. Kids cry and scream a lot, I get it. But I’ll be DAMNED if I’m going to sit on a 5 hour flight right next to that noise. I’ll get passive aggressive and blast music over the screeching if I have to. If you’re going somewhere in public with your child, you make them act right. Or they don’t come. Especially on a plane. It’s not fair on everyone else.

Children scream because their inner ears are not yet fully formed and they do not allow the pressure to equalize, so their eardrums get stretched. Imagine if your ears never popped. They really are in as much pain as they sound like they are. The solution is for them to swallow and eat, that helps to equalize the pressure. It's surprising that flight attendants don't explain this to parents. It's relatively well known.
