I do Wonder however how big this game is going to be on my hard drive, I mean think about it, Skyrim itself was only 5 gigs, then Fallout 4 for whatever reason was 40 gigs, what is Starfield going to be a hundred gigs?

You know, you saying that Starfield is going to be like 2 games in 1, I think (or at least that’s the strategy I’d use) that they’re viewing the base game more of an investment that hopefully pays for itself but doesn’t have to. How they could really monetize it is through DLC and a better Creation Club marketplace. Imagine just how much money they could make if they allowed modders to monetize their mods while demanding a cut, of course they’d have to host a free section too, otherwise they’d risk other platforms becoming more popular. If Starfield’s community develops similarly to Skyrim’s this could become a game that keeps on giving with minimum effort required if they do things right.

I hate when people talk about bugs and modern day games. Games nowadays are 100 times bigger than 10 years ago. You're looking at way more features mechanics map sizes nowadays then games used to It is just not possible to make the games not have any bugs when they come out because you cannot test it on that scale as you can after you've released the game because just because one person has this glitch doesn't mean another will

@@ggodd1080 True. Games nowadays are bigger in size, scope and ambition more than ever. And with all of this, comes the increase in logical complexity hence more bugs. No amount of bug testing and QA will fix all bugs and other issues in modern RPGs. Specially the ones made by BGS which are pure systems driven RPGs. I mean it will be foolish of me to compare ping pong to a BGS RPG like Skyrim and then say ping pong is better cause it has less to no bugs xD

@@ggodd1080 that's still no excuse to give me a skeleton of a game I payed for and saw advertised. Games may be bigger, but they should delay it or give out an actual beta instead of outright releasing a beta of a game. People aren't going to come back. Also I'm sure that finding all the bugs ain't the issue, games like Elden Ring and Resident Evil 4 Remake released in a decent state regardless of the size. I don't expect any game to be perfect, but I want it to be reasonable like these games. But wether it's the companies fault or not, first impressions are everything, this problem will most likely damage games in the long run.

I really hope base defense is a thing, no, none of that "another settlement needs your help" but I would really like to see a fleet of pirates trying to land on my base and being fire at by AA batteries

That would be so freaking cool. Like you would have to maintain damaged bases and hire people to hold it down from pirates and repairs. Or you could raid other bases with your crew you’ve hired and lose crew members.

Could just be wishful pirate thinking, but starfield’s in-depth ship system could be awesome news for if the elder scrolls 6 takes place in hammerfell. Imagine a pirate mechanic, and being able to customize your pirate ship and have ship battles and such

I mean if they're serious about being able to visit and explore 1000 planets.... Kinda feels like they should just do the entire planet of nirn. Not that I expect them to. Just feels like a weird thing logistically to restrict yourself to one region of a planet when the previous game by the same studio featured multiple planets to explore.

@@RustedBuddy5192 I totally get what you’re saying with that, it’s such a huge size difference. I think the realistic version of what’s gonna happen is that massive size and scale is going to be applied to the single region. Like how Skyrim’s cities only had like 10 houses each and was more a “representation of the cities”, this time maybe they’ll actually be more up to scale y’know. So we’ll have a massive world space but it’s all focused into one super detailed region. No more condensed regions, they can actually be the size of countries

I think the trend with region sizing in past games supports this too. Like Daggerfall, despite not even taking place in an entire region (between hammerfall and high rock), is the largest elder scrolls game. Because it’s simplicity in graphics and such, it takes a way longer time to traverse the, in universe smaller region, than it takes to traverse Skyrim. When they upgraded to an engine that had more graphics capabilities, they had to scale it down for engine limitations, and thus we got the smaller Morrowind landscape. Over time the engine’s capabilities expand and we get bigger world spaces like oblivion’s and Skyrim’s

I hope farming and visiting planets for materials doesn’t feel tedious and repetitive. I’m still very curious how any of those random generated planets feel.

@@The_Primary_Axiom yeah dude I totally agree. I’m hoping the variation between randomly generated planets combined with the planet scanning system gives it more variety or at least makes it easier to explore andfarm. Because of the way they generated the planets and then developed them, I’m hoping at least a good amount of planets have at least a couple small developer touches too to make them unique. My wishful thinking/Theorization tells me that when we build a colony it will be able to gather certain materials for us based on the planet it’s on, so mid to end game all we have to do is visit the colonies

My moment was playing Oblivion while somewhere deep in the mountains of Afghanistan on a small Army base. It blew my mind the first time I got to roam around after escaping the prison.

The main thing that excites me about Starfield is the modding potential. Hopefully with as many planets there are in the game modders will flesh out more of them with content, quests and activities.

One thing i hope we get is the ability to do jobs, like deliveries, smuggling, bounty hunting and so on, it would add some background stuff to do if you dont feel like doing side quests or the main stuff

That's exactly what this game is all about, think Han Solo from Star Wars with your own version of the Millennium Falcon and that's pretty close to how this game will play. Getting chased by the authorities, gathering intel on wormholes and claiming bounties depending on your skills.

I love the grim atmosphere from Bethesda… when you walk into a building only to find mutilated bodies everywhere from Super Mutants to Molag Bal’s House of Horror in Skyrim. The choices you make based on your character or your allies morals. The gunplays and the moddings

Molag Bals house of horror was no choice of morals but more of an forced quest upon you like most of the quests in Skyrim. Now if i was able to lure that demon out with an sidequest to an epic boss battle in some dark dungeon or other dimension, it would made Skyrim an Epic rpg game but nope just really good action game with somewhat blend npcs in general

you literally cant make any choices in the house of horrors (or most skyrim quests) without a mod. ppl give fallout 4 a lot of deserved criticism but at least in that game i can have at least have 2 choices in some of the quests whereas skyrim has one forced path the vast majority of the time

@@wanax apart from the open universe space setting, scanning and miming, which is a must for space games, what else is similar? Starfield has much better exploration, the way bgs maks open worlds is unmatchable, character creation, much realistic graphics, ship building and oh ya, mainly stories......all this is different from nms, and these are the major elements....... thats more than enough to separate the two. You haven't played a bgs game before, if you still stand by what you say

I don't know, every time I see one of his videos pop up talking about this subject, I don't feel like I've learned much of anything new, he ends up repeating a lot of the same information and there might be one thing that's new or it's based off of rumors that are not really credible rumors, so at the end of the day or the end of the video I guess, it feels like I just got pumped full of information that was rehashed information that I already knew about and some of it was rumors that are unilified or verified and I think to myself what did I watch this video? In fact a lot of Starfield videos feel like this, it seems like a lot of people are grasping at straws when it comes to information about starfield, and Bethesda for whatever reason aren't really giving up a whole lot of information, they're being very neglected on the details, so it leads to a lot of theories some of them baseless and a lot of wishes really a lot of wish fulfillment going on, except the Fulfillment part doesn't happen, it's just a wish.

@@user-tp5yb4hr4w I'm sorry you feel that way. I have only actually put out 3 Starfield videos in 2023 including this one, although another one was half about Starfield, butit wasn't in the title. I try to just cover the new things as they drop mostly, I try to explain past stuff for context when appropriate, so perhaps that is why it feels like repeat information? If you follow Starfield closely enough everything in this video will be rehashed information, that is the entire point of it. But most people don't follow Starfield super closely so they can watch this video and learn new things

Personally, the mod I want to see most in this game is a mod adding a B1 battle droid. Across all the shows it’s appeared in (Clone wars, bad batch, rebels, mandalorian, several lego Star Wars animations, etc) the droid has hundred if not thousands of voice lines that can be put into the game, and since we know there will be robots, and at least one of them is a companion with at least a little combat capability, I really hope someone mods a fully voiced b1 into the game. I want my Roger Roger follower.

I am beyond excited for this game. I don't think people realize that this is probably one of the most ambitious games ever made. There are video games out there that can only conquer one aspect, of the many that this game possesses; such as, base building, or crafting, or space flight, or dungeon crawler, or romance, or dialogue, or main story.. You see what I mean? This game has SO many aspects all in one that create this massively ambitious project and I find it okay if there are some errors here and there. Surely nothing the modding community can't fix and because it is specifically Bethesda, this game has the potential of being the highest modded game ever made as well, depending on how many Skyrim modders jump ship. Like Skyrim, this game probably has so much content that you would literally have to spend hundreds of hours to 100% the game, I mean like actually finding every little corner of the game or item or NPC to talk to etc. At this point, to me at least, it's not about how polished the game is going to be, its about how well Bethesda's team can work together to create such a wonderfully painted picture of the original idea of Starfield. Does the music fit right? Do all armors fit in this universe? Do dialogue scripts and voice acting have all the same consistency that doesn't break immersion? Do flags on the side of building match the same aesthetic of a pirate ship in the atmosphere of a planet in another solar system? Pretty much every where that a different developer worked on a single part of the game matches one another, than this game has absolutely unmatched potential.

Something I really like is the global illumination on different planets. The footage behind Todd looks really great especially with the heavy orange tint to the shadows, it really gives this dusty atmosphere kind of feeling, and a couple planets have more greenish and blue tints. Very cool. I imagine different planets will have mamy small differences like this and moons/skies. Pretty much every aspects of the visuals are a step up from Fallout 4/76, but I think the design is even more clever

The visuals are actually fucking amazing. If they optimized their game properly, this could be almost as good as Cyberpunk (minus their new Raytracing tech)

actually, this game seems to have inbuilt raytracing, you can see indirect lighting in one of the frames. And the textures in this game are already looking far better than cp2077, even the part where he zooms in, you can see the textures are detailed, whereas if you zoomed in any other game, textures look pixelated.

Great video. Learned more about this game in this video than the last year watching hundred videos about starfield. Im picking cyber runner, bounty Hunter or diplomat. I’m really excited for this game. I just hope it’s adventurous, immersive and the story well written. I hope it’s one of those games after you finish it you think about it for weeks and feel empty inside lol. I’m very curious how any of those random generated planets feel. Hopefully farming and material gathering is somewhat fun. I also hope they make the combat feel awarding and you can raid bases with your crew members and lose them in battle.

What I am looking foward to is that with all the "empty planets" some mods can adopt a planet to make it better and have history and stuff. And eventually there is going to be various mods for entire solar systems or planets. I am really hopeful for this. Maybe it will get me into modding, who knows..

I'm honestly really excited for this game. I'm tempering my expectations considering Todd's track record of... exaggeration, but from everything that's been shown and said it looks like they're using lessons learned from every game they've made to really elevate it as much as possible.

I’m assuming the two step out moments are going to be 1st: when you are invited onto a spaceship and you get to experience leaving the planet you’ve been on for the beginning of the game. and 2nd: When you are given control over a spaceship in the freedom to go to any planet you want to.

@@trissmerigold7722 it looked good, but very normal for a FPS game. It does not show anything fun, drones, traps or something different to fallout. It's a high tech game, it would be boring to have just shoot and a few bombs. Skyrim has a number of magic classes but that is being replaced by crazy high tech toys? The problem is maybe they think they don't have anything other than upgrades to gun's(redfail). Because that is crazy boring in a sci-fi game. It's very bad.

@@danburke6568 well. it's actually hard to judge, cause not much is shown. probably they will show how combat really works in the upcoming showcase, I'm excited to see it. the jetpack combat looks fun tho.

I have some major concerns about starfield at present. mainly that the only thing we've seen of the hub cities is concept art. I will still buy it, because the community will fix it as best we can. I hope it's amazing on day 1, but nothing yet has actually assured me of that

I REALLY want Starfield to have pilotable Mechs. It won't put me off the game if it isn't a thing, but just imagine the possibilities. You could convert Starfield into a massive Gundam game if it has them.

I’d say with the power armor from 4 being a kind of vehicle (it changes player model/movement/stats/hud)so they could Frankenstein it as they always have done

@@EP_mcPower armor of some kind in this would be awesome. I'm not sure what would be in the game in terms of vehicles or tech though. The style and setting seems quite conservative in its imagining the future some three hundred years in the future, compared the Fallout. I know Fallout is more eccentric with aliens, mutants and nuclear everything, compared to the "more grounded" Starfield, but in reality there would likely be some crazy innovations over that period. E.g. how robots are so far presented in Starfield compared to Fallout with its robots and synths.

O2/CO2 system is probably based on rebreather tech. So the meter is based on it's ability to convert vs time. Do more - breathe more. Tech has to keep up. Kinda like mounted turret overheat mechanics typically used in games to balance damage output.

Interesting point, because it means that better stamina is probably given through equipment, rather than character stats. I could imagine skills that condition for better breathing, meaning less consumption, but more stamina and recovery rate are probably based on your gear.

Why is it wrong? It probably has more to do with PlayStation than it has to do with bethesda, you see Bethesda tried to work with playstation, but PlayStation didn't want to work with Bethesda when it came to their creation Club stuff, so that's more of a PlayStation problem than a Bethesda problem at this point.

In Skyrim you could become a werewolf and a vampire lord, in Fallout 4.. you could use power armor.. who knows, maybe Starfield will have an equivalent gimmick.. outside of the spaceship of course.

I personally would have loved them to just have 100 plants full of things to do 100 plants. It would be like 9 sons by the time you include moons that would have bin plenty, especially for a single-player experience. 1000 just seems like overkill and makes me sceptical of just how much they could possibly put on all those plants without using the same side quest everywhere at some point 😅

It's been so too long since we've had a brand new massive Bethesda rpg adventure to go on and I can't wait. If I get anywhere close to the same amount of playtime with this game that I've gotten from Skyrim and Fallout 4, then it will be well worth the wait. And the fact that it's a new original I.P is even crazier! And while I obviously hope we get a 60 fps option on console, 30 fps will not be a deal breaker for me.
