In the majority of EVs, they're using cylindrical cell batteries. They don't swell up like this and last MUCH longer. If they would use the LiFePo4 chemistry even though it's slightly less energy sense, you could even put a nail through a cell and be safe.

I mean, as long as you properly dispose of it (some battery recycling center or other place) it’s not much of an issue. My old Galaxy S6’s battery swelled up but never exploded. However, if that does happen to you HANDLE THE BATTERY WITH CARE and avoid sharp objects, drops, heat, or water.

So keep it in a freezer and save money on a data plan as well. My first battery got pillowy or soft baloon. The last one that went south got rock hard (ebay special) and got a little bigger as well. They all swell i think but the tip off is low capacity.

It's to say that the problem isn't brand dependent. It's not device dependent either. A few years ago I bought four GBA SPs from a yard sale from the same guy and they were all swollen. One even messed up the display like was seen here

Damn my phone battery life is 50% an the left side of the phone is bloated an the screen has lots of cracks and the battery is not functioning well like when i just finish charging it turns to 0% like 3 seconds then it opens again and keeps repeating the shut down and the turning it on until it will stop at a low battery below 20% mostly 10% E (using my ipad )

The lithium polymer batteries they use now are even worse, everyone should know this too - li-po batteries can explode simply by being charged when it's too dead, or not dead enough. There's smart tech to regulate the batteries (hence why Apple throttles them after 2.5 years, all you tarts that cried about it only made the problem worse, do better) But finally, everything he said here is 100% correct - except the vehicle issue. We have no worries with those, they aren't built the same way, and they're liquid cooled - which is 98% of the reason li-on batteries swell.

No, Samsung phone batteries are ageing much quicker than other companies. Take MKBHD and Mrwhosetheboss for example, they both have huge phone collections but every samsung phone that was 2 years old or older was practically about to explode. So yes, Samsung phones are ageing quicker.
