I remember having no idea what it was (and stil kind of don't) in the 90s but desperately wanting to play it, just based on box-art and the tiny screenshots on the back. I never did get around to it. But hey, 30 years later and we get this sequel/remake. Maybe THIS time. 😅

These were soulful, beautifully created adventure games back in the mid 90s. You had to be there to realize how revolutionary they were, especially the vastness of LBA2. The music, the atmosphere, the characters, the absolute charm of it all. You could feel that the creators made them as passionate projects from the heart rather than to be a product. I miss that era. Don’t sleep on this game despite how strange it looks.

The original game was something special. There was a fascinating harmony between music, scenario, gameplay and characters' personalities. There was action, adventure, drama and comedy perfectly balanced. Twinsen is the kind of character current videogames and movies don't display anymore. The society nowadays doesn't have a role model like Twinsen to feel positively inspired by! But such heroic standards are still present in the nostalgic memories of those who had the pleasure of living the 90's and 2000's videogame era.

While I do love Little Big Adventure, the game I really look most forward to remastering of this kind is Little Big Adventure 2. I've played that game so many times now, I can probably play it blindfolded. It was such an experience, especially as a kid of 9.

Because I didn't grow up with the original, I didn't think I would be able to get into it, since it was a game that hasn't held up in present times. Now that it's getting a remake, with a brilliant low poly artist design that's perfectly in-line with the original game, this will be my chance to finally see what all the fuss is about!

I think the original design is lost here actually.. The original had this rendered clay like look.. Everything was very pebbley shaped. That's lost.. I'm not a fan of this redesign at all as a fan of the original game. I think tonally it's lost something as well.. I greatly dislike Twinsens redesign as well.

I know now what was bothering me a little. The characters and the scenario are blending too much. Sometimes it's hard to see that there's an NPC in a corner cause they're too similar to the color pallet.

La DA est intéressante mais j'avoue je préférais le côté plus "réaliste"/brut de la version originale qui créait vraiment une atmosphère unique entre la population choupi et la dure dictature en place. Je soutiens le come-back et for sure je l'acheterai, prenez mes sous et faites revivre Twinsen mais voilà, deso mais pas convaincu par les choix artistiques :/
