She was 9 when the war started and 15 when it ended.
As a little girl, she saw death and human suffering many times, felt fear many times, and very quickly realized that mean people must be avoided.
She was very curious about the world and wanted to see as much of it as possible.
In 1947, she came to the western territories, where she met her future husband Wojciech, a former prisoner of the German concentration camp Auschwitz-Birkenau. She was great at knitting, everyone envied me my beautiful sweaters, scarves, gloves and hats.
She cooked the most delicious cabbage soup in the world and liked to talk quietly about the past.
She worked hard all her life, more than 45 years in piecework on looms in the Linen Industry Plant. She loved it when books were read to her, she could listen to it for hours.
She couldn't read or write...
She was the greatest grandma ever.
She passed away in February 2010 at the age of 80.
Here is her story
