Little Richard survived because of his flamboyant personality and his wardrobe. Little Richard has said that during his day a black man couldn't be seen as masculine around whites, because white men didn't want black men around women for fear they would sleep with the white women, but if black men were effeminate than it was fine. Little Richard was a character but I believe he survived racism and ill treatment because he wasn't seen as a threat. His personality ease a lot of nerves, but if people paid attention to him, he was much more than a flashy gimmick. Early on, Little Richard had changed his life, he went back to school, graduated from an HBCU , became an ordained minister, left the music industry, because he realized it was about negativity, despite making money. Everyone that came in contact with him talked about his kindness. Little Richard was fearless, when many thought he was just crazy, he gave a real history lesson on how he actually discovered many rock and roll greats, and that he was the originator of Rock and Roll.

Prince did dress and style himself after him check it out during the diamond and pearls era with the new power generation, he where's the bandanas with the big high hair. Then go look at little Richard and you'll see. He is very eccentric and colorful in personality but he's actually telling the truth. @@panthersinstinct2750 What song did Elvis steal? In other words: what song did he sing and not give credit to the writer? Elvis is the King because he established R&R as we know it today. Back when gay little richard and Chuck "the chucker" Berry were singing, it was all rhythm and blues. Elvis created the moves, the rebellion, the badness, the voice, attitude, rock and roll as we know it. If not for Elvis, black musicians would not have made it as far as they did.

@@Richbar-qe6bx He didn't still a song,he stole multiple...what you just said was quite the opposite. The moves,the rebellion,the badness,the voice,the attitude,etc... were ALL present via multiple BLACK musicians,he wouldn't be Elvis without black people and that's a fact,do some research...you yourself admitted he was taking songs (did occasionally give credit) so what makes you think the songs were the only thing he was adopting? you'd be crazy to think otherwise. Again,he came in an already established genre.
@Richbar-qe6bx
@Richbar-qe6bx 4 жыл бұрын
@@panthersinstinct2750 Again, I ask: What song did he steal? Do you know the meaning of stealing? Look it up: definition of stealing is "take (another person's property or song) without permission or legal right and without intending to return it." Just one example, the song hound dog was written by Lieber and stoller. Google who wrote the song hound dog: Lieber and Stoller. Stealing means Elvis sang the song and gave no credit to those who wrote it. That is what stealing is. As for the moves, he originated and influenced many black entertainers in the business like Jackie Wilson who once said: “A lot of people have accused Elvis of stealing the black man’s music, when in fact, almost every black solo entertainer copied his stage mannerisms from Elvis.” Jackie Wilson And Al Green said: "Elvis had an influence on everybody with his musical approach. He broke the ice for all of us." Need more proof? Isaac Hayes said: "Elvis was a giant and influenced everyone in the business." Isaac Hayes. Before making your ignorant comments, do you research first.

In 1982 on Letterman he said he was no longer Gay, and that he was an Evangalist, he was dressed in a suit with no makeup. In this interview 4 years later, he seems to be back in touch with his more flamboyant side.

He has changed so much he’s a born again Christian... I always knew the Lord was knocking on the door of his heart. God had a purpose and a plan on his life... I listen to his testimony on three angles Christian tv. He looks so different you can barely recognize nice him. He bald head and confine to a wheelchair.... He’s 83 I think that was the age he said he was.... he’s very calm not flamboyant and loud the way he is now on this video.

I saw the Testimony of Little Richard also, and my belief, Little Richard character was just a gimmick to get through it all cuz back in those days it was tough and you need something to make it, besides his fabulous talent. I've also seen on KZfaq his T.V shows in England in or around beginning of 1960's he was full of energy!

First on the charts in 20+ years? Elvis was never off the charts in 21years. 1956-1977. That's why Little Richard was full of it elvis is the king and always will be. His number 1's and little less conversation was number 1 worldwide years after he died
