Thoughts on Little Women?

I love watching people react to better call Saul showing up. Everyone like that's nice their dad is home then when they see him their eyes turn huge the happiness and excitement much like the girls are. You cut out " but I'm so lonely" that's the part of her speech that's supposed to hit home ya be independent but it's also really lonely

The professor is an inside joke for those who read the books. Now they wouldn't publisher her book unless Jo was married. Allcott did negotiate her book terms. It's believed she was gay in real life which also explains why Jo wouldn't marry Lauri or anyone since you can't be gay back then when your reading the book your like i don't get it why doesn't she marry Lauri instead she Marries this random dude and the professor has been hated ever since along with Amy. Amy and Laurie belong together they make sense. Amy and Jo are also two different sides of the same coin Amy wants to be the best at art Jo at writing Amy accepts marrying rich Jo rejects it. Both ambitious one willing to play by society's rules the other not. But if the authors was gay it makes perfect sense for her not to Mary or want to Mary. So the professor is Meta and now you know.

Well, Little Women isn't a romance either, so you haven't watched a romance still. Little women is a coming of age story, the little women (they're all still children in the beginning) grow up, and become who they want to be. Even Beth, while she doesn't actually grow up and live a life, she still makes it obvious that she feels satisfied with her life, that she didn't want or need a glorious destiny. It's about the March girls growing as people. Their romantic lives are a part of that, but it's not the focus of the film. The flash backs in this movie make sense, to make Amy more likable, to make it clear Jo and Laurie don't end up together, etc, but the story itself was always just a chronological tale. Personally I like the 90s version better, way better costumes that make way more sense. The March family wasn't dirt poor, but poor enough that new clothes are not an option. The girls wear their mother's old clothes in the books, and hand-me-downs etc. It's a big thing in the story that they pool their money together to buy new things for their mother at some point. They also have moral objections to wearing certain materials, they oppose slave labour and child labour quite strongly. The book makes a point of this for Meg, she loves fashion, and the scene with her wearing that dress from a friend, and ultimately rejecting it, shows that her morals win out over her desire to be popular and adored. In this movie all the girls are wearing new clothes in every scene, and their clothes are different from what everyone else is wearing too, which makes no sense for the story or the characters.
