Same!! I was disappointed they chose Winona to play Jo and not Meg back in the 90s cause I felt in appearance she was SO Meg. Eldest was supposed to be the prettiest one and not Jo ffs. No offense to the actress that played Meg back then ofc. She was pretty as well. Just the facial characteristics didn't fit at all. But now it seems they got it right. Finally!!!

Amazing cast but why is Hollywood remaking every single great movie???? Are there no other new scripts or great novels that they haven't put on the screen yet? I'm sure there are plenty! There should be at some point should say...... "That was already perfect, let's leave that alone."
@hilary3219
@hilary3219 4 жыл бұрын
However, remaking it means the story will continue on into a new generation, not everyone can see the play when it's put on, a lot of people (including adults young and old) don't read much, and both the 90s and 40s (and probably others that I don't know of) version is difficult to get or mostly unknown by a wider audience. If this is incredibly successful then the story and the message can continue on. Disney does it to make money mostly, but here I think it's really to keep the story and message alive.

The goal of these movie makers are to make (financially) successful and "popular" movies. To make movies that people want to pay to see (obviously). In order to do this, the potential viewers (arguably) need to care about the movie/topic/actors. If you make a remake then people already care about the film because they liked the original. Unfortunately, new movies are too much of a risk these days. Remember that the primary goal of these creators currently isn't to make a good movies, but rather to make movies that a lot of people will watch. (and probably be disappointed by.) The quality of the film doesn't matter, the advertisement for/of it does...

You know it's totally unbiased of course....despite the fact that it won't come up as a suggested search on Wikipedia....and despite the fact that rotten tomatoes critics gave it a 29% while viewers gave it 76%. I guess they thought no women would be "woke" enough to notice. Hey feminists: the virtuous women cutting in on your territory? Huh? Had to "fix" the movie because--God forbid--people might see the one the Christians made and....get the wrong idea about feminine virtue? Pay attention, ladies: they're trying to manipulate you.
