The young girl was supposed to be Normani when she was younger watching 106 and Park which was a very popular video countdown show on the BET channel. The video was an homage to the many artists from the late '90s and '00s she grew up watching and influenced by. Some who she have had the chance to become friends with and are huge supporters of her. Beyonce, Kelly Rowland, Janet, Britney, JLo, as well as other artists videos scenes, and moves were incorporated in the videos. Fun Fact: was that during the making of the video they didn't play the song for them to dance to. They used some sort of Clap Track cause they didn't want to risk the song being recorded and put out before Normani and her team was ready. Someone has it posted on Twitter showing behind the scene of the last scenes and you can see them dancing and hear the clap track. The fact they were able to do such flawless dancing to clapping versus the actual audio of the song shows how talented Normani and those dancers are. Normani, in fact, did the flips because she was an award-winning competitive gymnast as well as a dancer before 5th Harmony. She also did the ball bouncing trick with a real ball, she's very coordinated and has a very good command of her body. Someone who worked on the video said that she did that move in one take. Normani was trained in multiple fields of dance, including back in 2017 when she competed on Dancing with the Stars, was trained in multiple styles of BallRoom dancing.

The TV Show she was watching is called "106 & Park," an African American based music video countdown. Normani, as the young girl, is imagining herself one day being called with the "No. 1 Video" on the countdown. For those who don't understand the concept of the music video. "106 & Park" was everything when you got home from school. Everything new and urban debuted on this show. Kind of like a black TRL.

She’s not a fan of Normani she is Normani. She grows up to be her wildest, most successful dream. Also it signifies the importance of representation. Seeing successful Black artist on 106th and Park as a child showed her that that could be her one day, when she grows up. It’s like she sees her future on tv.

Since CM really likes her dancing, you should watch her on "Dancing With The Stars." She does many different ballroom genres on there, but she still does amazingly well!
