I’ve never driven a hybrid but I want to switch to it. I have a 2020 Sorento. Is it easy to drive?

@@nakithabadon9855 very. The only difference is the knob instead of a shifter and you can tell when the car switches from gas to electric. Other than that I love it and it’s extremely quiet not to mention the gas mileage. You should definitely go test drive one.

@@nakithabadon9855 A Hybrid is VERY similar to a gasoline vehicle. Just put it in gear and go! Even EV's aren't too complicated, but generally, an EV brakes instead of coasts when you release the throttle (gas) pedal. With a Hybrid, if you're comfortable driving your gasoline vehicle, there's not really anything to learn to drive a Hybrid. Oh... there is one thing to learn... You need to get used to driving past gas stations. :)

I've always preferred the grey rims too, but I'll be honest, these look better in person than they do on video or in pictures. They're better in grey like on the X-line, but they match the piano black trim around the rest of the vehicle.

Perfect... thanks for the reminder. I just checked my documents that often show it, and it wasn't on those documents. I can tell you with certainty what the new van will include!! :) The Sorento is a vehicle that I'll have to dig into further. At this point, I believe the Steering wheel will heat up, but the seat will not. On the new minivan, I'm expecting the seats to be able to heat up too.

I'm hoping for that software update too. We'll see!

It's a great value in the class, especially when compared to the Honda's and Toyota's of the world, but it's not an inexpensive trim line. Thanks for watching!

I believe it can... but off the top of my head, I know the SX model has the folding mirror housing, I don't know if the EX+ does.

Kia used to call their system "Dynamax AWD" Which was a Magna International system. I believe this system is designed in house, and it's excellent! With multiple drive modes and terrain modes, it really customizes all of the electronics to perform well in any given condition.

In Canada, the 2021 models only came with the the inflator kits. The 2022 model year Sorento comes with a jack and spare tire.

They do. I'm going to have to dig up the information. I thought I had it in one document, but it's not there, so I'll likely do a short video on it just to make sure that we have good and correct information out there.

I've been trying to get to the bottom of this and there is mixed information depending on the .ca and .com website. I know in many other Kias the 2.5L Turbo is MPI but on the Sorento it just lists it as GDI in Canada but GDI + MPI in the US. Thanks!

@@megajig off the top of my head, I believe the turbo engine is both. I'll have to double check about the non-turbo engines. I'll check my specs when I'm back in the office.

No, only the SX has that, although the Kia Stereos are much better in these current cars than they were in the past.

The short answer is, yes at this point. These are still new vehicles that are just arriving and the Turbo engine models are still trickling in before they hit full capacity. I haven't seen an EX model yet, but we do have several turbo models on order, so I hope we'll see them in larger volumes soon.

Yeah, I'm still trying to get Kia Canada to confirm that it's coming, but they DID confirm this on the K5, so I can't see it NOT coming on the Sorento. They won't say anything because there's no timeline to release at this point.

I believe that's correct, but I think there's one on the back of the armrest. I'm not near any vehicles right now, so I'm going off memory.

The camera sometimes picks things up a lot differently based on the vehicle, where I park it in the bay, whether it's sunny or not outside. I always tell people not to judge the colour by the video because it can really look different from one video to the next.

I believe it's six speakers, and you do not get the Bose system, but these Kia stereos in both the Sorento and the new Carnival, are much better than I remember from the past.

@@BrantfordKia Ya my 2019 sorento radio is garbage. That's unfortunate to hear they still won't put premium audio in middle of the road. Not everyone should have to get a top trim to have good audio!

@@InstinctiveFirearmReviews I don't disagree. Hyundai is offering the Bose audio on the top two trims of the Santa Cruz, and that seems like a good mix. Top two or even top three of the Sorento would make more sense to me.

@@BrantfordKia Yes I think a good sound system should be offered by at least EX or EX+. It is the only thing that let's me down about my 19 sorento ex v6 awd. I threw new speakers in with factory head unit but there isn't enough drive from that unit. So I may look to amp it but I am a fan of the brand and hope going forward more options exist for buyers with better sound systems.

It's interesting, there have been a lot of calls for power liftgates on Kia vehicles that don't have them. I didn't realize how popular that feature seems to be.

The EX and above have those buttons on the bottom of the rear-view mirror. Great question!

At this time, we don't have Hybrid Sorento's in Canada. I'm hoping that we'll get them for the next model year, but we'll have to see.

Yeah, I questioned Kia Canada about this feature the first time that I saw it. It's a feature that I really love. If you set the AUTO climate to a temperature, and the 3 lights are lit up, that's going to function like you would expect it to. When you tap the AUTO button and you end up with two, or one light lit up, your fan speed will not exceed a medium level or a lower level. Basically, it does two things. It keeps the car quieter while adjusting where the air is directed and brings the car to temperature. The other benefit, if you open the door with traditional AUTO climate control, and the outside temperature is significantly different than the inside temperature when you jump back in the car, the air conditioning can BLAST for a minute or two before slowing down. That can cause you to feel very cold before the temperature resets. If you set it to ONE light, the passengers will never be blasted with that cold air. (After writing this, I realize that I need to make a video to be more clear.)

Also the infotainment screen is like the SX but even though it's an EX+ for 44000$ it does not have the BOSE stereo that's disappointing.

Move one step up in the lineup and you'll get that.
