370hp are a lot of horses, but keep in mind that in a well built car, you won't feel them. The better the car, the less you feel the power. This car has better acceleration than most of today's hot hatches, so i will easily call it a sport car.

Answer to the question posed at 6:29 - yes you can take photos remotely while parked and view them on your phone with UVO. Confirmed as an owner of 2022 Elite.

Thanks for sharing! It's nice to hear from owners. We often hear from people who are a fan of other brands telling us that the Stinger could never be as good as their brand of choice, but they don't see what we see every day, which is actual buyers who have come from luxury brands who are perfectly happy with the Stinger!

@@BrantfordKia Well, i consider that the Stinger is not so good as a BMW M340i in terms of dynamics, but good enough. Plus, is an awsome looking car and most of all, the 7 years warranty is a thing that others cannot match. If Stinger would cost as much as a premium car, most of the clients would choose otherwise, but right now Kia is the only less costly alternative to the unreliable german premium cars. Good job Kia, you've got yourself a new costumer, i am now making arrangements to buy my Stinger but i cannot decide between Red and Ceramic Silver.

Yes, the first-gen Stinger does have the side-squeeze feature on the drivers seat ... thanks for that since I did not originally realize that, and I've had the vehicle for the last 3 years!

I have the 2022 Stinger Scorpion edition. Amazing car. I would buy it 10x times over if I could. I had a 2018 Stinger premium and traded it for the 2022 scorpion. One of the best cars I ever driven. However, I found that I’m having an issue with the wireless charger. The charge won’t hold on my iPhone. I even took the case off but that didn’t make a difference.

Great tech video Peter!. You mentioned the last time with the Stinger you weren't sure about the decision to only include Safe Exit Warning, perhaps Kia knows the majority of owners would have adults or much older children in the back seat? One thing that Kia/Hyundai should 'borrow' from another manufacturer is the outline of how far the doors open on the top down view monitor.

Yeah, I'm wondering if the door latch isn't capable of locking electronically. All the other cars with it have a different style of child lock. I think that's the reason it's Safe Exit Warning, and not Safe Exit Assist. And yes, that's a great idea about the monitor.

I don't know about 4 years, but I'm on the record as saying that I don't believe there will be a second generation. Kia's next performance vehicles will be Electric.

@@tonybailey89 I think it's a couple of things. The U.S. sales lag what could have been. (It's priced higher in the U.S. than Canada) and the next EV's from Kia will accelerate much faster than the current Stinger, and are said to handle very well. Car companies really are moving to electric vehicles even if consumers are surprised to hear that. If you're going to lead the change to EV's you're not likely to develop another generation of a lower volume sports car with a Gasoline engine. A new generation would have to last 5 years to be economically viable. If the new model launches in 2025, it would run to 2030, and by then, it just won't be competitive with the amount of EV's that are faster.

@@BrantfordKia well that's just progress I guess, the Stinger has a timeless design that I firmly believe will age well, that 3.3t can still give you almost 500whp and almost 600ft-lbs at the rear wheels with FBO's paired with tuning and I love all the new features, tech, and upgrades to the 2022 refresh, so if I get a solid 5-8 years of smiles by the gallon, I'm sure we'll have the infrastructure to support majority EV's by 2025 or 2030 as you stated so it'll be a natural transition

Nice in-depth look. Thanks for sharing. For the very few things that the new 2022 model offers over my 2018 GT Limited, I think that I'll keep my Stinger, which I love. Sure, they've added a few bells and whistles here and there, but they've also taken out very useful things like the sunglasses compartment? Dumb idea. Moreover, electric windows still don't work on the "accessories" position of the Start Button, you have to push it a second time to the "Ignition on" position, which could drain the battery needlessly. Finally one of my pet peeves with this car: the UVO (now called Kia Connect) smartphone app only allows the engine to run for a maximum of 10 minutes at a time (useless to warm the engine enough in winter here in Canada) and during the whole 10 minutes of remote-start operation, the hazard lights on the car will flash needlessly. Pretty dumb that too. But it's a free service and app, so... BTW, I don't know how much the service will cost once the 5 years of free service is up (in 2023 for me)? Do you know?

Few things here. Your talking about a glasses holder as a complaint? Put them on your sungaurd or literally anywhere else. Once they are on your head they are gone. First world problems forsure. 2nd. It’s very common for lots of cars to actually “ignite” the battery so you can actually use the AC and not just hot air. Or you’d destroy the battery. 3rd. How often (in Canada) do you remote start your vehicle where 10 min isn’t enough time to warm a vehicle. Lastly your complaints are very silly and stupid to say the least. Stop complaining and drive your great vehicle

@@chrisgeorge84 Despite my few complaints, I love my 2018 Stinger GT Limited. BTW, the AC will not work unless the engine is actually running, otherwise it'll blow warm air. And to answer your question, here in Canada, cold weather can last up to 3 to 4 months and when temperatures are -15 C or even colder, it takes more than 10 minutes for a car to fully warm up. That's why most other remote starter systems offer between 15 to 20 minutes of running time.

Actually no, the Camaro SS 1LE and presumably at least all V8 Camaros, do not have the audio-system providing "engine noise". There is a tube that goes from the intake to the cabin to transmit noise (an actual tube, not recorded sound over the sound system), but it's pretty subdued and I removed it, no big change in engine noise. When I'm tracking the car, it doesn't need any "help". Yes, it is common to have this these days, but your example at least was not the right one for it. BMW would be a better example.

I think when people say 365 hp is not that much, mean for twin turbos 365 isn't that much I mean the k5 gt has 290hp in a 4 cylinder with only 1 turbo so when you have a v6 with twin turbos 365hp really isn't that much , I would bet with a little tune it would be easy to get over 400hp easily

People also forget that ALL of the torque in this car is available at very low RPMs, so you FEEL that power instantly. Peak horsepower is really an odd way to measure the power of a road-going car. Most people never reach peak horsepower, the power band, and the torque curve are what people feel and experience on the road, and this car is excellent.

LED lights are more white. The sunvisor lights are more yellow. I don't remember if the glove box has a light.

I'm in Texas and don't want to have to plan to make a road trip to Canada just to get this kind of ..................... attention! You are unique! I hope the "States" are paying attention .. More than that, is KIA / Hyundai paying attention? (make this a "company feature") You do a lot alone for brand awareness / quality .. I'm equally concerned about service / maint / support post sale .. The Stinger is on par with other "premium" brands .. Can I expect to get premium service /support as well?

We don't have any connections to Texas (You'll have to move to Canada!! I highly recommend it!!) As far as treating people like they have a premium vehicle, we talked about that when the Stinger and Telluride came out and decided against treating Stinger and Telluride customers better than our other customers. Instead, we set out to improve our processes to treat everyone like a highly valued customer of an expensive purchase. That's one of the reasons why our service department will pick up your car at your house, service it, and deliver it back to your home. We do that whether you drive a 2009 Kia Rio, or a 2022 Kia Stinger.

Wait... WHAT?!!? There are Stinger branded headphones and nobody told me about this?? Haha! To the best of my knowledge, we never had these in Canada, and this is the first time I'm hearing about them. You'll have to follow up with your local dealer to see if they're still available.

Drive one and see for yourself. It's not designed to be a boring luxury car that has plush tires with ultra quiet ride. It's a performance car. You're going to hear the engine and exhaust a little bit. You're going to hear some road noise. It's not loud for what it is, but if a Buick or Lexus sedan is more your style, then you'll probably find that this makes a little more noise. It's certainly not loud.

Hey Peter, the sheet you show at 6:10 is interesting. Because my 2018 stinger doesnt have the heated/cooled seat option with UVO. What Im wondering is if you know whether or not the Seltos SX Turbo includes that option? Im looking to downgrade to something a little more practical/affordable, I have my seltos ordered and was just curious about this feature. Just to clarify im wondering if the uvo app with the top trim Seltos has control of the heated/cooled seat function? Thanks

I've been asked to do a Nav video for a while, but we have had a few different versions of the Navigation systems in our cars. The Stinger might be a good one to do that video on. Keep in mind, if you can't find the address in the factory navigation, you can still try Google Maps, or Apple Maps through Android Auto or Apple CarPlay.

That means you're a good driver! If you drive for one hour without stopping, you should lose one bar. Also, if you weave in and out of lanes, brake late, and speed, that can contribute to losing bars quicker.

still watching, but wanted to ask. Did Kia address the soft compound on the brake pads or rotor design that causes the car to shutter when breaking? I heard swapping out the rotors and pads to a higher quality after market part fixes the problem in previous generations but wanted to know if Kia corrected it already?

I'm not sure if that's been a problem here in Canada. I've been out on the track in these cars multiple times. I've never experienced the issue, and to be honest, I don't remember a single service customer here talking about an issue like that. So, I'm going to go with, Yes? It doesn't seem to be a problem for our customers, or the cars that I've been able to drive hard, or been in while professionals drive them hard at the track.

368 hp is not that much, and I've driven the Stinger GT, there. It's not slow but it just isn't fast, stop making people think it is. It certainly does not feel fast.

Most people who say that have never driven this car. You can turn off a lot of the safety and convenience features if you don't want them, but if you're thinking the electronics take the fun out of this car, you'd be wrong.

@@BrantfordKia Hi, I own one. It is fun to drive, I love the car. I bought the GT1 in order to avoid most of the electronic devices. People rely too much on the electronics.

Nah, drive the car with them on first, you may find that they make you faster. You can turn a lot off on the racetrack, but these are VERY well calibrated systems. They don't take away the fun like on a lot of other vehicles.
