@@samberfpppo1014 In Georgia, if someone dies as a result of you committing another crime, you're also guilty of murder. "I didn't know" and "I didn't plan it" aren't considered legitimate defenses under that statute. So when you say they 'couldn't know', that's irrelevant; whether you like that or not is irrelevant too. It's multiple counts of murder for each act they committed that kept Arbery there and prevented escape. Those were felonies, and since he died, it's murder times each one. The law in GA is clear: you're the 'stupid' and 'brainless' one.

Look at this judge... His demeanor, professionalism, the way that he conducted his courtroom, from beginning to end. And this is Georgia 🤷, one of the last places on Earth where you would figure that good old boys would be held to the letter of the law for killing someone let alone if they were black or not. The defense striking down black jurors. The judge calling them out on the obvious BS. The remaining jurors and alternates sitting through this trial and looking at the facts and the law, then providing a verdict based on those facts and the laws and charges as they sat. I didn't drop the charges for the law being ambiguous, no evidence was dropped because of the pixels in a camera (don't believe what you see BS) every juror was able to read and comprehend the law and the spirit of that law. None of those three convicted were hanging out behind the judge watching the video. None of them taking cues from there lawyer handlers.... No racist jokes from the judge.... And like I said this is Georgia. Now I hope those that were involved in neglect of duty, suppressing this case from ever seeing the light of day the attempted cover-up are held to the same standard for their part. Thank you to this judge again for him conducting himself and his courtroom in the realm of reality. Thank you to the jurors for being able to look at the case objectively, crime versus qualifying terms for that crime and apply reason and logic in their decision. I will be looking forward to February.

In contrast to that clown of a judge who tried Kyle Rittenhouse. Lawyers here in England, of all political hues, are shocked by how he managed that case. Ignorant of the law, hysterical and singularly unsuited to the role. I worked for a large commercial New York law firm for many years and many of my former US colleagues are astonished by the judge's shocking mishandling of the case.

@@TooManyChoices1 You are entirely correct re the Judge's ruling re Rittenhouse's Miranda Rights, TooManyChoices1. However, it is the hysteria which marked his interventions form the bench that would never be seen in an English Court let alone a State Federal Court. I am not a criminal lawyer but I am able to tell a good judge. At one point, he waved his hands towards a bookcase of authorities without taking one down and referring to it in detail. An able and learned judge would never restate a position in law in that manner. I understand he is elected which is completely anathema to the way things are done in England and, I dare say, in Federal Courts across the states. I looked up the man's law school and confess I've never heard of it. I did not follow the case too closely and so cannot comment on the merits of the jury's verdict. Of course, it deserves to be respected but over here we compare the judge in the Rittenhouse case with the one who so feebly mishandled the OJ Simpson trial. I don't mean to offend your sensibilities at all. You may very well be right in your view of the case (self-defence is self-defence). I just question the competence of this judge and the manner in which he tried the case. I watched a good hour of it and was not impressed. I have a huge respect for the USofA and have many good friends among former colleagues I worked with in NYC. We also look to the States to uphold the rule of law as we endeavour to do over here. After all, there are few if any jurisdictions around the world that do so - just think of Russia, China and the like. It's essential for the sake of the survival of the Democratic world, now under fire from autocratic regimes around the world, that the rule of law is upheld. This requires a competent and robustly independent judiciary. Take care and have a good day.

This Maud Arbury trial reminds me of the Zimmernan case where Zimmerman unjustly got off, for shooting an unarmed teen visiting his dad and arriving back from the candy store with An Arizona ice tea and candy in hand. It was similar in which out of unjust suspicion, Zimmerman was the stalker and the aggressor. When the teen tried to ward off Zimmerman, he shot him because he wasn't winning, definitely not a fair fight when Zimmerman shot him with his gun.

@@MichaelJohnson-ij5ei No Michael Johnson! Your bigotry is showing, he was a teen who was visiting his father and he went to the store and bought himself an iced tea and candy and on his trip back, bigoted Zimmerman who is not really a white man in the first place, he has some black ancestry, got suspicious because he was black youth walking around in a white neighborhood, stalked him and of course then, Travon might not've even known he had a gun on him and was scared or alarmed at Zimmerman following for no good reason and, and wanted him to get off of his back, or Zimmerman likely threatened him. The fact that Zimmerman even carried a gun mean't he expected a physical altercation. It was probably a verbal fight first, but then became a physical fight. One way or the other the teen didn't initially do anything wrong to warrant a a fight and be shot to death. Zimmerman got off because his father is a judge and yada yada Yada. No, they were going after Ahmaud’s mental health status. This is a reference to those who suffer from behavioral health that don’t practice self care. From what I can see this is 100% the correct verdict - even if someone does steal from an empty house it does not justify in any way chasing them down with guns... You cannot claim self defence if you are the one doing the chasing..

I agree with the rest of your sentiments, but what is there to steal from an *empty* house that's still under construction? They did say in this video that there'd been other people who had done the same thing Ahmaud did who weren't treated the same. I can see how someone might be curious and not realize it is still trespassing even if the house is open and under construction.

This was such a horrible murder. Apparently he was too afraid to run through anyone's yard in this neighborhood. My guess is he was afraid of being shot as a trespasser. And he couldn't even run on the public roads to get away. I've never been so ashamed to live in Georgia as a white individual. These murderers got what they deserved but AA will still be a murdered black man whose only mistake was jogging in a racist neighborhood. Everyone in this neighborhood who contributed to this from the gossips (mommy dearest) who put all of this into motion to the murderers, will meet their maker one day. A true Christian family would know the fifth commandment and the consequences of murder as well as the sin of gossip.
