Bond gets behind the wheel of a double-decker bus in this LIVE AND LET DIE (1973) chase.
Roger Moore said: “Before we started shooting, I was sent to London Passenger Transport, to their skid pan, to learn how to skid a bus, which I have to admit is rather scary.”

A bus driver from London actually went out there to do that stunt. He was officially the best skid driver in London Transport at the time. All London Transport bus drivers had to do that test. It was a real thing

Always fun to watch and feels so fresh coming after the Connery Era where most of the films had BLOFELD and SPECTRE as villains..... And ROGER MOORE presents humour in such a great way and I just love it..... LIVE AND LET DIE is a great film to watch.....

This is a Car Chase with a difference and one that sums up Bond Car Stunts which are Brilliant, Spectacular and sometime funny. This is not what Bus Drivers do for a living but I bet some would live for moment like this. Brilliant Bus Chase, and all filmed in Jamaica too.👍🚌🎥

Hell yes, here on Long Island we have parkways with low bridges and every-so-often someone new to LI drives a truck under therm and invariably gets stuck. A double-decker bus like that would certainly just stop dead.

A red bus, or maybe a blue one. False upper deck no seats or rails just a wooden skin designed to slide off but still a good prop. Best Bond music ever by Wings, still great 47 years later.

He learned how to drive the bus but the stunt was performed where bus goes under the bridge was done by stuntman Maurice Pattchett who was one of several stuntmen for Roger Moore through out Moore’s 7 film tenure as Bond. Roger Moore did drive the bus for the other parts of the scene and had to undertake a crash course on how to drive a double decker bus.

It is very unlikely that specific bridge was an inspiration - that bridge only attained more widespread fame since the associated website was created in 2008. (Also, previously, it was less of an issue. Trucks have got larger, are more likely to be self-drive hire vehicles, and people keep blindly using/following unsuitable satnavs that don't account for large vehicles).

Only three good things about that movie. Jane Seymour as Solitaire, Yaphet Kotto in one of his first major roles, and the theme song by McCartney and Wings. Otherwise, "To Live And Let Die" isn't a true Bond film. Insert any cop/action hero and there you go. It isn't Bond if there isn't some World-threatening crime for him to prevent. SPECTRE was always trying to control the world. Several independent villains tried to get rich by wrecking some part of it. Or Bond was involved in some kind of classic, high stakes thing in the Cold War. Drug traffickers in the Caribbean? Nahhh...
