I'm glad you want to get started with recording your acoustic! I actually had two portable field recorders (the Tascam DR-05 but look into Zoom as well depending on your needs), one plugged directly into the guitar via the mic in (which is the clear sound from the pickup), and one about a couple feet away that captures the ambient noise as well as the sound from outside the guitar. I blended them in my daw (I use Cubase, but feel free to use what you're comfortable with), and added some reverb, delay, EQ and a bit of post processing effects. I also used some stock sounds of a brook to blend in for the video (I normally would record my own, but I was running out of time for good lighting). If you're curious about the camera setup, the main one is a Canon RP, and the secondary is the Canon Rebel T5i. Both amazing cameras, and if you get decent lenses and learn the settings, you'll be sure to get great results. I edited in Adobe Premiere, and took some pictures for the thumbnail. Also, a lot of this advice is just for if you want to film out somewhere where you can't control everything. If you can create a small studio space, please look into the Focusrite Scarlett 2i2. It's affordable, and can be used with preamps when you decide to upgrade your setup. I use it for all of my studio recordings

1@@IanGregoryBlain This is definitely very helpful, sadly im on a budget so i mostly have to rely on headphones next to said instrument witch is kinda sucky but it gets the job done most of the time. However when it comes to Acoustic Recordings It never sounds right as it fells naked and bare. Im going to get a acoustic that has a pick up so hopefully thats going to solve a lot of the issues, and am planning on making one of those hour long relaxing guitar music, except its the bealtes lol. @@VelvetMidnight You might also consider mic placement, and if you can, see if you can use an app to control the gain on the mic so it doesn't peak. Look into using a high pass filter around 100 hz if you're having problems with an air conditioner or a low hum. There's a lot you can do with what you have. Good luck! Also, the 1 hour vids take forever to make, but they always reach me a lot about music!

@@IanGregoryBlain Yeah definitely i recorded about 5 songs after i arranged and recorded them and just felt the quality wasn't high enough because i didnt have a pick up on my acoustic and just adding reverb and effects wasnt going to hide the low quality recordings. Thank you so much for this and uh ill be working on getting adapters for my guitars to plug into my pc/daw do u got any advice on any good ones? All the ones I see are relatively cheap but i don't know if they would work. I just want something that i can plug into my Phone/Pc and record something on garage band on lol. Ik very high standards but i'm on a tight budget and don't want to waste anymore money on faulty gear. Thanks!
