The Leafs didn’t win the “deserve to win o’meter”. They did what they always do which is score 3 goals in a flash, tie a game, and fail to lock it down. The Canucks have fewer shots in majority of their wins if you look. They don’t avg more than 27 a game.

Talking about complementing the goalie look at Chicago with no NHL players but Mrazek who they acquired to help them lose is stealing games behind a team that is playing Metapod hockey. You can't overhaul the D but you can change the coaching styles and game plan. Just shut teams down completely and capitalize on the chances the talent and speed will create. How many do they need a game to win 2-1 5? 7? Great chances?

Jesse, the thing is that at least lately, Skinner has been comparable to Hellebyuck and Demko. If you look up goalies by save percentage in the last fifteen games, and eliminate everyone who hasn’t played 15 games (so backups with good numbers in a small number of games aren’t counted), Hellebyuck is first with a 94.3% save percentage. But Skinner’s numbers are also only slightly less ridiculous as the third best goalie in tha time with a full 15 games played at 93.2%, while Demko is a little outside the top ten at a good but not outstanding 91.4%. The difference is the other two have been around long enough that we trust that Hellebyuck and Demko are just good, but both of them go through stretches where they are bad, and have some generally down seasons. I’m not saying Skinner is better, what I am saying Skinner has played well enough long enough that we may need to consider him in the same conversation with the two goaltenders you just mentioned, but not long enough to see where he stands. But for now, Skinner has been really good. But just to put a different spin on it-which team of the three is best prepared to outsource their problems when the goaltending goes cold? Edmonton’s been comparatively unlucky in their shooting to Vancouver, and they have some players you would especially expect to outshoot the average. If Demko goes cold and the shooting comes back down to earth, do the Canucks go 2-9-1 themselves? If Edmonton’s goaltending goes cold again, they are probably better prepared to at least play .500-ish hockey for a while. Their stretch at the beginning of the year was everything going wrong at once, and right now, despite winning 13 straight games, they have areas where things could be going better.

Everyone who loves seeing the leafs lose wants to see Keefe stay.
