Hi! My name is Alena and in this video we will explore Vladivostok with ‪@NatashasAdventures‬. Not the best timing to post a lifestyle vlog from Russia but I hope that you will enjoy our adventures. We visited Primorsky seaquarium, hung out with penguins, fur seals and other Bikini Bottom creatures!
Some info about Vladivostok: Vladivostok is the largest city and the administrative centre of Primorsky Krai, Russia. The city is located around the Golden Horn Bay on the Sea of Japan, covering an area of 127.86 square miles, with a population of 600,000 residents.
Vladivostok is the largest Russian port on the Pacific Ocean, and the chief economic, scientific and cultural center of the Russian Far East, as well as an important tourism centre in Russia. With a yearly mean temperature of around 5 °C (41 °F) Vladivostok has a cold climate for its mid-latitude coastal setting. This is due to winds from the vast Eurasian landmass in winter, also cooling the ocean temperatures.

I used to live in Japan. I went to Hakodate for a weekend. It has a good sized port for fishing and shipping. Lots of Russians go there to buy used Japanese cars and ship them back to Russia. In any case, while I was walking around the city a guy stopped me and started speaking Russian. I told him I didn't understand him. He then asked me in Japanese if I knew how to speak Japanese. Turns out he was from Vladivostok. Odd that both of us were speaking a second language to communicate. Whenever I think of Hakodate I can't help but think of the guy from Vladivostok that I met there.

This episode could have been titled, A Day With Natasha in Vladivostok but it would have given away too much! What’s life without a clickbait title? There was plenty to see and the highlights of Vladivostok from Burger King, Cinnabon, the Federal University, the fox by the road and the sights of the aquarium showed us what people could expect if they went there. Looks like you girls had your Russian fun but these things must all come to an end. Thanks for the collab!

I just found you through Natasha on her Christmas and protest video. Your English is amazing! The entire English speaking world should be open to you. Quite frankly, I like what I see in Vladivostok. I imagine it's covered with snow and slush now. Happy New Year from Florida USA.🇺🇸🌴 Edit: And there's Natasha!!

I truly love your sense of humor. You and Natasha truly make me laugh in a good way. Not to make fun. But because I understand your semi-depressed humor.... I am a transman from USA, former Marine Corps (which is a military service here)... I was in the military MANY yrs ago.... during "don't ask, don't tell".... not to say I think I know where you stand relationship-wise.... but suppression-wise.... like afraid to be 100% relaxed/yourself.... I could be wrong .. and maybe hope so cuz i dont want y'all in trouble.... but just want to say i really like you and you personality.

I like these videos that show everyday life in places I never visited. But I admit that they feel also... Strange. I'm old enough to remember the Cold War, and the big thing then, was that we had no idea how people on the other side truly lived. But now... Seeing this city, with English signs, chain restaurants with exotic foods, mojitos, poke, Burger King, American songs played in the streets,Disney movies on the screens. It all look so familiar and reassuring... And yet here we are, once again with War, propaganda, nuclear threats. It makes all the familiar sights and hallmarks of western culture unnerving and alien, almost like a betrayal. We were supposed to all be part of the same world... We all watched SpongeBob! How can it be that now we hate each other to death?

I'm sure it wasn't like that in the 80s! And, yeah, a surprising amount of English on signs there. The only other place I've seen in Russia like that is St Petersberg. Moscow added a lot of English lettering to street and metro signs in time for the 2018 soccer world cup but it's utterly useless because it's only transliteration not translation, and you can literally learn the Russian alphabet on the plane from Europe (my sister did when she visited me in Moscow). Great to see you posting again, Alena, though the footage is obviously old. Greetings from the far north of New Zealand. Pls make me a флэт уайт. Edit: I just noticed Pavlova-flavoured ice-cream. Whaaat? Who in Russia even knows what that is? (not the ballerina, but named in honour of her)

When you get down to it, it’s not people hating other people, it’s stupid corrupt governments in all countries sending out propaganda to build some false patriotism. I despise governments not people. ✌🏻

I dont hate yall, yall dont hate me. Its just the world ruled by bloodthirsty titans that we live in. We're all like ants on the surface, trying to escape the next step of a giant foot. I dont hate Westerners as a whole, only those responsible for the War that kills Eastern Slavs by the thousands.

"And so I stood on the deck watching Russia slowly drift away on the horizon, this country that I had loved so dearly and served so willingly and faithfully for several years..." - British war nurse Florence Farmborough, recalling her departure from Vladivostok in 1918 after having spent almost a decade in Russia, and the years 1914-17 as a volunteer nurse on the southwestern front with the Red Cross and the Imperial Russian army.

@@Blackadder75 No idea... ;) She wasn't a nurse originally, she worked as a governess for a family in Moscow for a couple of years and when the war broke out in 1914 she decided to train and volunteer as a nurse, like so many women who wanted to assist in the war. By then she had come to feel bonded with Russia, and if the revolution hadnt happened she might well have stayed and married some Russian man.

I would like to have visited, but with the war I suspect that will never happen now. I shall enjoy your's and Natasha's vlogs, There are some beautiful buildings there, but the traffic looks pretty horrible on the roads. I do love your dry, acerbic humour, much like mine, 😆

hello! Natasha really had to say that there are really a lot of cars in Vladivostok, there are also a lot of city residents who have 3 and 4 cars in the family, the city of Vladivostok is the main transshipment base for Japanese cars. In addition, there is the largest car market in Russia, sorry the girls didn’t go there and showed it! traffic is very high and also the driving style of Russians living in the city can frighten a foreigner, but you can get used to it over time! in addition, there is the largest street in Russia where they sell auto parts! and so the city is colorful and very interesting in its own way
