The most interesting topic ,It awakens a genuine interest in me ,Our name is our history on this Island and our DNA is our history in this world ,I managed to trace my lineage to around 800 ad but to go back further is for the DNA route ,,At a guess I would say my original ancestor on this Island was a slave sold to whoever by the Greeks ,,, At a guess only

He seems an interesting author who has lived in Ireland some while and was supervised in the 1970s by Marija Gimbutas .A linguist -anthropologist more than an archaeologist ? Like the trend nowadays he integrates other fields the latest being the DNA influences or "strong evidence " of the past decade or so, enjoyed the conversational or dialogue with a couple of questions from the viewers at the end. Based in Belfast some Celtic scepticism from the more Anglo academic sphere . The author seems to think that the Irish Celtic language may have “arrived” in Ireland between 1000 BCE and the first century BCE while the Celts ,hardly mentioned, perhaps arrived from 500 BCE ? Smaller domestic cattle arrived by 3800 BCE in the Neolithic period he states a moveable feast . en.wikipedia.org/wiki/J._P._Mallory For more impressions of one of his last two books (2013) . www.goodreads.com/book/show/16283900-the-origins-of-the-irish So he says the Indo-European languages came in with the Beaker People. That is real progress, to be able to link the language change to an archaeological change with some degree of certainty. M also links the origin of IE to the Steppes, (as per Gimbutas) not to Anatolia or Armenia. He does not mention the other Celtic sceptic's or theories such as Koch and Cunliffe who have put in interesting work on their Celtic from the West hypothesis…the Atlantic seaboards. He wonders if the Irish language came after another IE language to Ireland ? A cautious man .Mallory is also speculative.

Where to find a history irish family life in the 1800 to 1850 era? I recently read Martha Ballard's account as a midwife in Maine, USA, between 1780 and 1812. Quite a few insights on evolving practice of medicine and midwifery. Also with constant mingling between most people in her community told a tail of interdependence and cooperation it took to survive in those days. I'd like to find something like that.

Very interesting because ancient Indian language is the basis for all modern indo euro languages although another weird link is that Irish sounds very Arabic not to mention the fact that Tara shows up in ancient Indian mythology which is atleast 4000 years old. For those interested see what the Prof says about the Irish coming from the med via Spain France and into our Isles there is a book known as Chronicles of Eri..... Roger O'Connor the writer published the book in 1822 but was slated by contempories for Irish Nationalist propaganda but what he says in the book is confirmed by DNA today, also would explain how the berbur ape came to be here because it says they stopped off in North Africa on the way. I have a copy of the scroll which I'm trying to get translated.
