1) Change into Samurai armor at the Ashikaga Machinaka Yugakukan and stroll along the nearby streets!

2) Ashikaga Gakkō is a Historic, picturesque site & known as Japan's oldest school, also houses temples & shops.

3) Bannaji Temple's area is surrounded by earthen walls and a moat. You can still see today the remains of the samurai residence from the Kamakura period and in March, 1922 the ‘Ashikaga Former Residence’ was designated as a national historic site.
There are many cultural properties on the grounds, as well as the large ginkgo tree known as a ‘marriage tree’.

4) Hatoya (restaurant) is where I had a delicious snack! and worth a visit too!

5) Orihime Shrine is definitely worth a visit. This might be the jewel of Ashikaga city. You will get some great views of the area too.
