Hey team - many many changes to the rig, and todays stream is a simple setup to get online and be able to connect with you all.
Running the rig you see on screen into a Bose Pro16 unit, and out the back of that direct to stream. Nothing too fancy, but we're rolling and can play some tunes. Looking forward to saying hi!
Also - there's links above to my full rc600 setup and memories that I'm using including Touch OSC for the ipad (video coming on that), and I'm running a midi keyboard that I've been playing with off screen also. We'll see how much it gets used or not though. Always tweaking and having fun with things of course!

David I had to comment. I am literally taking my whole pedalboard apart(again) now that I have implemented MIDI and I had this stream going in the background. At like 1:33 in I was floored. What a great rendition. Simple and sincere, and it broke up the stream back to just guitar and vocals. I loved it.

Thanks for this Dave. Missed it live but a great Saturday arvo show. The unpredictable out-of-sync /lagging second loop is my biggest RC600 frustration. I didn’t know that stopping and restarting the loop realigns it. I normally delete and reloop (which adds too much time live!). This is a brilliant trick. Thank you.

I'm using a distortion effect on the RC600 for this one. Normally using an overdrive though if you're curious to try for yourself with pedals etc!

Hi David! First of all, congratulations on the video, it's very inspiring :-) I really don't understand one thing, how do you manage to switch between the two harmonies in BiIlie Jane? I thought you were using a single track, but the recorded rhythm wouldn't be able to play all the way through. Or in the RC 600 can it be set which track should be single track? Thanks in advance for the answer.

heya! thankyou. Rhythm is on track one, and track 2 and 3 are set to single mode so I can switch back and forth between them while the rhythm keeps going. I did the exact same thing on the RC300 just using an assign to switch back and forth between tracks 2 and 3 playing etc. For the setup for this - I have tracks 1/4/5/6 set to multi mode, and tracks 2/3 set to single mode. Have fun playing with it!

@@davidshanhun Hi! Thanks for the reply! What I don't understand is that even on Rc300 it can be set per track to be in single or multi mode? I thought the mode setting applied to the complete program, so to all three tracks globally.

@@davidshanhun Hi! I have a couple of technical questions for you. Does both live and recorded guitar go through the RC300? Do you only use the main left / right of the RC300 outputs? How are the live/looped instruments distributed on these? Why do you use the selector switch for the microphone? Wouldn't it be great if the live mic goes through the RC300? A little different: My guitar has a Seymour Duncan Active Mag pickup, is that completely unsuitable for recording drums on a guitar? Do you prefer to use a piezo pickup for this purpose? Thank you in advance for your answer!

@@tiborpecsi5483 you would set assigns to do this on the 300. there is no single or multi mode.

@@tiborpecsi5483 i presume we are talking about the rc600 here as it's what I'm using in the video. all sounds are going through the 600 both live and recorded. live and looped come out the same channels and are mixed the same for me (I don't split what is recorded versus what is played live to different channels). I don't use a selector switch for the microphone at this stage. Your guitar pickup is perfect for drums on guitar. the answers to your questions will come from spending time doing these things with your own loop pedal. you need to take action and try these things - and in trying and testing them you will get your answers for what works best for yourself. I hope this helps.

Nice livestream buddy! I'm only just starting my looper journey. I am a full time musician, so I know the guitar and singing bit it's the looper part I'm worried about :) I'm in doubt about getting the RC600 or the new Sheeran Looper X. I know there's a massive price difference (€420 vs €1300) but I'd rather have the pain once...Any suggestions? Cheers! Pat

hey Pat! Enjoy the journey and sorry for the slow reply... have you already chosen one? Tough for me to choose as I haven't played with the Sheeran looper at all. Thoughts at a glance is the RC600 will be much more customisable and creative, and the Sheeran looper will be easier to get running with better effects in the box to have you sound good. Whichever you learn and go with will be ace though man! Let me know!

Hey David, thanks for the info. And yes, I got the RC600 a couple of weeks ago. Exactly for the reasons you mention here. I'm obsessed :) I went full monty: Handsonic, Yamaha CK61, Boss VE22, Midi Captain and all the expression pedals and switches I could find. It's fantastic and the most inspiring thing I did in the last decade. All because I stumbled upon your channel, so thanks mate (Thomann says 'thanks' as well :) ) Love your podcast, you really do a good job there, feel like we're all connected and that is a massive achievement.
