Pretty sad that the BBC can't give the correct credit to "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face." It is a 1957 folk song written by British political singer-songwriter Ewan MacColl for Peggy Seeger, who later became his wife. The song was covered by a number of artists before Roberta Flack covered it, and it became a hit after it was in the movie "Play Misty for Me."
