Really puts things in perspective. I just lift for hobby and have been told different times that I'm strong/ very strong, yet at 90kg bw i can just barely compete with some of the lower placing competitors of the 66kg weight class.

Yes, me too, I weigh 102kgs usually and I always felt strong even when I’m competing in grappling but those guys are way stronger than me. I can’t imagine how grappling with the 100kgs powerlifters would feel like

That first squat should have received 3 reds. The bar actually went down, up, and then down after the squat signal, and he unlocked and relocked his knees prior to the decent. Reds all around.

At the european championship Pana failed his 3 squats due to "technical issues" (he got robbed) so he changed his technique and now his squat is weaker, if he didnt have to do that he would destroy kyota. That's just the rules of the sport, kyota didnt locked his Deadlift so it's no lift, point.

How would pushing with 4 fingers(thumb in) be safer than pushing with 5(thumb out)? Nobody at this level is letting it roll out. So now really consider what that means up the kinetic chain. Will the lifter have more or less systemic support and reinforcement when their thumb isn’t engaged as well as it could be? No. That’s where injuries(and weaknesses) happen. A hand/neck where you’re never contracting the outside of the thumb and only the inside is a less closed kinetic chain and therefore less safe situation for the lifters. I really hope they change this rule.

Pana was so lucky all his fails are due to the lack of strength while ushiyama and brian‘s deadlifts especially ushiyama's failed due to ‘technical issues’ and I don't know whether all the judges are french or white but I'm concerned.

Last year at Europe, Pana didn't validate his squat due to "technical issues", but this year he's worked to the maximum on his technique and that's what made the difference today, so it's up to the other two to work on it if they hope to win next year.
