I’m the photographer that was at the scene. We were offered to lockdown in the Kwik trip store by the staff there. We chose not to so that we could gather further information about the story.

@@xploration1437 That has to be the absolute most idiotic thing I have heard this week, and I watched MTG's press conference, so that is saying a lot. Last time I checked, a pencil didn't get taken on a rampage killing school children. I'm not anti-gun, I simply believe giving them to irresponsible, un-educated (in firearm safety), or mentally deficient people is a bad idea. Making gun safety training mandatory is not a bad thing IMO, but apparently you like the school shootings. 10 years ago I may have said the same thing you did... but look at that, I grew up and looked at all the evidence and realized what we have been doing is not working. Maybe you'll grow up one day too. Hope not too many kids die from gun deaths by then.

@@pyrosupreme4473 Of course a sign does nothing by itself. But the idea that armed teachers are the only or best solution is nonsense. The way to avoid a tragic outcome is to keep the attacker outside of the building and not try to have a gun battle within the school after the fact.
