Police took a person into custody early Friday evening after a pursuit across south Baltimore. SkyTeam 11, Baltimore's only news helicopter, reported Baltimore police were in a pursuit of a homicide suspect. SkyTeam 11 video showed police close behind a silver minivan that was looping through south Baltimore. At one point, the pursuit briefly traveled on Interstate 95 before eventually getting to the southbound Baltimore-Washington Parkway toward the beltway. Then, around 4:45 p.m., the driver tried to return northbound before police were able to stop the vehicle in the median. In addition to SkyTeam 11, police helicopters from the city and Baltimore County were involved in the pursuit.

Quickly? All those police cruisers that drove towards the suspect were completely unnecessary and helpless. What's the point of driving towards the suspect and then letting him pass? Then you'd better go get a donut at the local bakery during that moment and don't bother with the action.

I've never seen a pursuit in which the fleeing suspect's headlight was so helpful making it extremely difficult to blend with other traffic.

I like how the police went aggressive, boxed him in, and approached the vehicle & dragged him out. Other cities would have probably been in a standoff with the guy, waiting for him to come out.

That would be California. They take officer safety to ridicules levels. They won't go near a suspect after he stops. They will even watch as a suspect crashes, car jacks another...crashes, car jacks another...crashes, car jacks another. All under the watchful eyes of police hiding a fair distance away. You can find that video here. Three car jackings during a pursuit until one officer finally had enough and rammed him while the two dozen others stayed far back. Maybe Baltimore is learning from Arkansas Troopers.

Did you not watch the whole video or are you paid to say that to protect the officers union? They had MANY MANY CHANCES to STOP the chase and DID NOT ACT. My only reasoning behind WHY they didn't is because there was "ANOTHER HUMAN" in the vehical NOT INVOLVED with the crimes. Other than that THEY COULD HAVE STOPPED THIS MANY TIMES!.......

Its hard to block in a fast car you cant get around,in this case the police did a great job.,but it was a minivan not a sports car. The problem with these fast cars is the cruiser dont have tbe power to get in front.

What baltimore??? pigt8wn Curtis Bay dundalk nor county. Raised here all my life the only only that have done damage during "cahse" was always BALTIMORE CITY POLICE DEPARTMENT. Literally had to pay out a few ppl for a person that's gonna be out in bail by 10am the n3xt day.

These officers had so many opportunities to end this chase and definitely need better training on how to end pursuits. They totally allowed this criminal to put so many more people in danger due to their incompetence.
