Make attacking and defending easy once you understand the game of positioning! Judo can be overwhelming at first. But once you break it down into common goals you can simplify the process. I'm going to walk you through a step by step process on how to stay in a good position even when you're out gripped.

Honestly so grateful for you and the way you put this type of content out there. Really helps me to study the intricacies of judo even ( or especially) when I can't roll or practice physically. Thanks again

Another brilliant video again, many thanks Travis! I don't get to see this live often because of the time difference. I have a question: I'm a lowly Nikkyu so have only a few years of experience under my belt, but still wonder whether I'm a righty or lefty. You say you should stick with what you're natural at and refine that - this makes sense. However, for randori I'm finding some throws are natural when I do them right (osoto gari) and others when I do them left (hane goshi). I've been told I typically have righty hands (right hand on lapel) and left footwork (left foot forward). When I'm pushed I naturally shift my left leg for balance, but I write with my right hand. QUESTION: Should I be aiming for improving my left side techniques (and hence being a lefty player) or my right (and being a righty)?

It seems like you have big throws to both sides. I would pick the side with the strongest throw.
