About TEDx
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)

Great video! I'm going to do it. Just preparing things now for the jump. Not sure what the future holds, but I'm going to do it! The other side of this may be the exact thing that I need to make me happy.

Your speech was amazing... candid, straight out of your heart, personal, yet everyone can relate to it... I wish I had seen this before. Good luck and more power to you!

Thanks for uploading. I''m going through the same thoughts myself, thinking about going on a sabbatical with my family. However......wealth does not give happiness, agreed. But no wealth gives no sabbatical.....keeping your house payments for a year + travel + hotels + food does require wealth...

Elmer van Gemeden...I came here because I need a sabbatical because I am too consumed with my children and grandchildren plus husband's life and their happiness, I have gotten lost in their sauce. Keep in mind, they are very ungrateful, live life without fear of any consequences, and live border line dangerously! I gave away too much of my life to people who have cheated me out of whom I could be and what I needed to do for making me happy. Now at 65 I get it, and a little anger has appeared, directing fault and guilt towards me instead of my family. However while sabbatical is what I want to do, break from those who have shown no appreciation to my devotion to them, money is now my setback! So because money and fear are my two hindrances, I must find a solution to loving me, while I cut cost to expensive dreams of traveling the world as he was able to do. I have disconnected, allowing a mind of freedom to rescue me from my prison and I love it. Praying, reading and writing my thoughts down is healing, and all other things fit in if I so desire to deal with them...Husband, children, grandchildren, extended family, foes, friends and enemies. No one matters but my God, and me to achieve my goals of life before my death!
