My Birth Vlog | Pregnancy with Lupus

We decided to put together a small vlog of the birth. Trigger Warning: delivery footage.
After 28 hours of labor and 20 minutes of pushing, our daughter was born. Overall I feel it was a positive experience but those contractions are no joke! I decided to get an epidural and that was the best decision I could have made.
Right now the most difficult part has been the postpartum recovery. There really is no way to understand it unless you’ve been through it. Currently I’m in a lot of pain with a second degree tear + episiotomy. To me, the postpartum recovery as a whole has been almost as bad as labor, if not worse for me. The pain has been ridiculous and all I want to be able to do is hold and take care of my girl.
One positive is I think my autoimmune conditions may all be heading towards remission. If I wasn’t in so much pain from the birth, everything would be perfect.

Congratulations, may your recovery go smoothly. I've just been diagnosed with arthritic lupus. Now that I know what it is I can move forward with treatment. Cherish these days as a new mother. New subscriber.
