Alex Mac is our new Alonso .... He's the best all round midfielder we've had since Alonso was sold. Passing, vision, able to blast it, maturity, intelligence ... He's an Alonso regen.

Around the non penalty, if the roles were reversed and Mac Allister challenges Doku like that as he tries to chest and clear the ball a free kick is given to City. That tells us everything we need to know. Up The Reds!

The likes of Nesta, Maldini and Stam would be right up there in any conversation on the best ever centre backs. All 3 were more complete players than the likes of vidic, ferdinand and adams.

Absolutely. These English referees are weak as piss, they'd rather deal with the consequences of an incorrect decision than a correct decision. To quote Simon Jordan, they lack the courage of their convictions

Many heroes on Sunday but lets really give Harvey Elliott a shoutout. He gets questioned on his physical limitations but if anyone questioned whether he could play at the highest level, boy he showed it yesterday. He fills in roles for the team and plays with such an intelligence to recognise what the team needs either in the pocket or on the wing. I hope he succeeds at the club and stays for many years.

As a neutral, it was a superb watch. To be honest, I was surprised by Liverpool`s midfield performance after watching them at my club Forest last weekend. Endo was magnifcent. Should be a great run in, but impossible to call it.

Klopp showed incredible management skills after the game by trying to focus on the performance and the bigger picture of the title race, while we were all understandably losing our minds over the non-pen.

The thing about the “we don’t want to decide the league winner by making a big call” excuse is that by not making the call, the refs STILL “decide the league winner.” It’s not like by not making the call they don’t influence the game. A foul or a penalty is a violation of a rule, and by not calling it, the refs allow the offending team to get away with not playing according to the rules. And that influences the outcome, like it or not. On top of that, it’s not like Doku commits a foul in a vacuum. He is forced into that foul by Liverpool’s play. It is Doku’s inability to stay with the game state that causes him to commit a foul. So Liverpool technically “earned” that foul.

The team riddled with injuries made City look positively average in the second half. That is saying something! Should have won the game but we are used to being shafted by the officials. Got to win the title the hard way. The Liverpool way which will feel even better at the end and a very fitting reward for the Boss.

Why does the FA not bring in a review of the call by either the manager or captain (limit it to 1 or 2 per half.) Where they send the referee to the monitor to review a call.

The recency bias is shocking. VVD is amazing but Hansen was even better. Different styles for sure, and both could do everything the other could do except Hansen could waltz through opposing midfields and set up attack after attack.

On the topic of the whole “title decider” being a factor as to why the ref and VAR ignored our player being booted in the chest: If Liverpool lose the league by a point or 2, and especially to Man City then that decision they have made at Anfield will have decided the title anyway! So to me that proves it’s something more sinister behind the terrible decision.

The way things unfolded at the end is a PERFECT crucible by which to ask and evaluate the Q "WTF is VAR for?" and judge it. Current incarnation is failing under those bright lights. the classic "we don't want officiating to decide such a crucial game late" doesn't hold water once you bring VAR in. I'd point out that CL and big World Cup games have been decided by officiating calls that were less clear.

If there's no VAR, he gives the pen but the decision is too big and they're now reliant on VAR to make it for him. But VAR is the same, the easy decision is to stick with the ref's on pitch one, they both have each other as an accountability safety net

In respect of the penalty Ian states “when you see it on the screen” there in lies the problem Oliver did not afford the magnitude of the incident the time to go and view it at pitch side, it’s scandalous no consistency is the major problem for me which is inexcusable and bordering corrupt.

You can’t ignore a challenge of that magnitude in the penalty area and pretend it didn’t happen. It doesn’t matter if it’s the first minute or the last minute, just make the correct call that’s all we ask. It’s a scandal. Apparently the reason the penalty wasn’t given was because they thought Doku got the ball. But according to FA Rules it clearly states “A high foot in the premier league is a foul if it endangers an opponent, regardless of whether you get the ball first”… Are they bending the rules now. Jeez.

I totally agree that Klopp is tired of the premier league and the anti Liverpool media and pundits and especially the referee association and his fight for us is finally getting to a limit no other man could do anything else but he’s been fighting for us for years now and when he took the job he didn’t understand how the establishment is against Liverpool so he finds himself being in a situation where referees have a big agenda against Liverpool and no mortal man has done more for us and I wish him well but for us Liverpool fans it’s just been the same for 60 years so I’ve seen it all before and it’s been the same for Hillsboro’s families trying to get justice and everyone knows that we have been shafted by the establishment and I explained to my mum that is why we boo the national anthem not because of one particular royal person but it’s the whole establishment including the courts and judges and the police and the government even thatcher wanted to put a very high fence around Liverpool seriously look it up but we carry on 😊

Mac Allister himself was sent off for a softer challenge than Doku's. Would Doku's high foot challenge have been given as a foul for his feet anywhere else on the pitch? It matters not a jot that his foot touched the ball.
