Macca sold Liverpool out. Dragged his heals on a contract so he could go on a bosman. Such a disappointment, could have had legendary status like Robbie but chose the money. Fowler will always be remembered, McManaman is a legend nowhere.

Robbie Fowler is the most naturally talented goalscorer I've seen, small, not quick, but his movement and reflexes were unbelievable and he struck the ball so cleanly. Steve McManaman, for about 3-4 seasons in the mid 90's was the most influential player in the premier league

After the 96 final macca didn’t go back to the hotel and climb into bed. He was at the Liverpool party at planet Hollywood in Piccadilly Circus along with the rest of the Liverpool squad . Because I was met them all there

Seen 'god' score some truly memorable goals. His first derby goal, free kick V the mancs, Villa when he left Staunton mesmerised, then that overhead V Charlton a game we needed to win to pip Leeds to CL spot. That is just a few!!!!

Mcmanaman had huge talent, but lacked the consistency to be thought of as that. Also, though he had had limited chances, he never really stood out for England.

Hahaha honestly after all these years i think some of us LFC fans need to get over it. He was treated badly. He wasn't offered a contract until he had less than 12 months left & nearly got sold to Barca during that time without his consent (Barca used it as a decoy to sign Rivaldo from Deportivo La Caruna instead) . So when he jumped ship a season later who could blame him. He's probably the most successful English man to play abroad winning two Champions leagues & he was man of the match in one of them.

They existed in the same era as the most dominant team that the EPL will ever see. A team with Becks, Cantona, Giggs and some brothers who names I can't remember. They also had a very competent manager.

Ten times? Macca was one the best dribbling wingers alongside the likes of Giggs that the EPL has seen. He was good enough to play for Real Madrid, win La Liga and the UCL. Don't be soft. Macca was top drawer.
