I feel "accompanied" in your pushing yourself to get out there. I find it hard too, especially being older and being in a new place of an entirely different culture. I often fall to the "I'm an introvert and happy to be curled up at home by myself, so I shouldn't force it." but I find myself very much more alive when I make the effort the get out, speak the language, even if it's broken.

Hi, Michelle! I wanted to give you some tips on puppy training! The point is you should get a treat pouch with his favorite treat in it and cary it around. It'll help him get over his anxieties and build positive memories when encountering new surroundings or people! Well, there is a thing called puppy training. When puppies live in the city, or anywhere, there not accustomed to different sounds. So, it is really important to give them a proper and trauma free experience to all kinds of sounds and senses when they're young. So!!! With that being said, i've noticed your dog shaking in front of the stairs. Instead of just pulling the leash on him, you should give him a treat and let him know that he shouldn't be afraid. If you keep on doing that them he'll make this connection between stairs (whatever his afraid of) and treats and will be able to overcome his fears and actually don't mind them eventually. But, if you don't do this then he'll become really sensitive. If he gets traumatic to few experiences that he encounter as a puppy, when he eventually grow up, he'll be most likely be afraid of new things, eventually will bark and not move at all. Hope this was helpful!! And p.s your floor in the apartment is slippery and therefore really bad for dog's joints. So it would be good if you got one of these to keep your dog from slipping.
