Probably one of the most mature things a person can do is to realize that a very expensive gift isn’t needed in a healthy relationship. Returning that bag was such a wise move. You know you care about each other without spending thousands of dollars on a gift.

Great move returning the bag. Whilst expensive gifts are such a treat, people don't realise they also create a benchmark to every other gift that comes thereafter, especially for the person doing the gifting. There's no end to it. Creating beautiful memories however, is the most priceless and precious gift that will last forever

i started crying when u cried reading the letter & opening the gift - you can tell that the gesture in and of itself means so so much to her. for her to return the bag & use that money towards their future goals, I think, is a mature and financially sound decision. I can see how some people would see it as rude or inconsiderate, but the way that I see it, she's delaying that short-term gratification of a nice bag for THEIR future together. she has her priorities straight.

Oh my goodnessssss I feel the "mixed up the flight day" stress!! That happened to me once. My friends were literally calling me form the gate "where are you?" and I was sipping afternoon coffee with my friends in another side of the city. This wasn't just a vacation flight, it was a flight to MOVE TO ANOTHER COUNTRY across the globe! Made it and Been here 16 years now. But MAN I ran!!!
