The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza presented an interview with Nancy Myers, a headlining stripper at Jack Ruby's Carousel Club at the time of the assassination. Myers performed under the stage name "Tammi True" and knew Ruby for several years. Moderator was Museum Associate Curator Stephen Fagin.
This presentation took place at the Museum on September 6, 2014 as part of the 2014 Living History Series. In the mid 80’s and through the 90’s I worked for a man who passed away in 2001 who said he and two others were in Dallas on business on 11/21/63. On Thursday evening they went to Jack Ruby’s Club, I presume the Carousel Club. Shortly after they were seated Jack Ruby walked by smiling and greeted them, and said that they had missed the floor show but that they should keep their ticket stubs because in a little while there was going to be a drawing for a stuffed animal. He spoke as if this was a good thing, and these guys would really care. After Mr. Ruby moved along they looked at each other and promptly left. My friend did not witness the assassination as he was in a plane waiting for takeoff from Love Field when Air Force One arrived.

@@randyharris3175 Ruby was a violent, gun toting, aggressive night club owner. I bet you dont believe him when he says it was a conspiracy and the people in power will never let the truth come to the surface and he even pointed the finger at LBJ. He pleaded with Earl Warren to take him to Washington so he could tell him the truth but Warren wouldnt. Ruby said he cant tell everything in Dallas as he didnt feel safe so Warren said he shouldnt say anything...Warren should have moved heaven and hell to get Ruby to Washington even on the off chance he had information regarding the assassination. Why would Ruby grow a hatred for Oswald? If he loved JFK that much why couldnt he be bothered to walk 2 blocks to watch the Kennedys pass by? And how the hell Ruby knew Oswald was a member of the Fair Play for Cuba Committee when even Henry Wade got it wrong, we shall never know.

@@geoffreyjohnstone5465 also the fact that Ruby's psychiatrist when he was in jail was a man that could induce insanity in people without their awareness. I don't believe Ruby just went crazy overnight. Out of the 4 men who searched Ruby's apartment I believe three died. Even if Ruby loved JFK you would figure he would want LHO to be tried in court cause how does he know if he was really guilty of the assassination. The only thing that gets me about the whole Ruby ordeal is his western union visit literally minutes before he shot LHO which makes it seem like he wasn't really planning on killing LHO until the opportunity arose at the last moment. Maybe he wanted to make sure he sent out that girls money before he shot LHO,we will never know.

Ruby had major mob ties from Chicago, New Orleans, and Vegas. Ruby also worked for Nixon as an informant in the 40's. Ruby complained of injections while in jail and begged to be taken out of Dallas and wanted to be sent to DC. he was scheduled for another trial. he died of cancer only 1 month after diagnosed. he was a health nut who never smoked. famous reporter Dorothy Kilgallen saw him in private while he was in jail. she bragged that she would break the case wide open. she died soon after, and her friend who had her diary was killed soon after and her diary is gone. funny the Warren Commission called her but not the Newmans who were 15' away from JFK when his head was blown off!

People like her give the best testimony because they have zero qualms or shame with regard to their place in that moment. Too many times a memory will be altered by what they wish they had done or didn't do, what they heard or didn't hear after, etc. She was a stripper. She stripped up to the time of this recording if I heard her right, haha. She knew Jack Ruby very well and laughs at the idea that he was anything more than a hustler. She doesn't use that term but what she's describing is *not* some guy within deep mafia circles or a power structure. He was a hustler that sold the right to view naked women and would do what he had to in order to make more money. Find beautiful women, new women. BS and say whatever to get customers in his establishment. Etc. He was a loudmouth hustler that thought he'd be a hero until the day he died by shooting Oswald. I doubt he really thought about it long at all. He was there, he had a gun, probably heard people say things like "oh, I wish I could..." or "I wish someone would..." and he did. I know people like him, haha. That's the thing. I can easily see how it went down. Anyway, she's so believable because she makes no high-crime about it. No story of how she was almost here or there. No story of rumor she heard or anything she made up just to involve herself more. Just matter of fact replies from a woman that made a living in the margins of 1963 society, that knew Jack Ruby. Nothing more or less.

1250 personal recordings with people who had something of interest about the JFK assassination and The Sixth Floor Museum STILL thinks Oswald shot Kennedy, Lol. (They don't actually believe it they just keep the lie going as best they can.) There were so many groups of people associated with the assassination it's almost ridiculous. Nice lady here but I don't for a second believe much of what she says about Ruby. He was a KNOWN Mob hanger-on. A wanna-be. She would know this. (I don't blame her a bit because she surely knows that other dancers who worked for Jack and said too much ended up dead; at least four that I'm aware of.) Ruby shooting Oswald (who never fired a shot) because he didn't want Jackie to go through the stress of a trial is literally THE most absurd "motive" for murdering someone I've ever heard. Many things went "right" on 11/22/63 and many things went wrong. Oswald was supposed to be killed at the theater but he didn't put up a struggle so they didn't have a reason to shoot him. BIG problem; there cannot be a trial. Oswald has to be dead. Enter Jack Ruby. Somehow the killing of Oswald was the job of the Mob. He owed the Mob money and they threatened him that he and his entire family would die if he didn't do it. Funny story: Just after shooting Oswald, Ruby is sitting in jail. He gets a visit from a Dallas Homicide detective. The detective says Ruby is more nervous than he has ever seen anyone...pacing, sweating, heavy breathing, etc. He asks the detective for a cigarette and nervously smokes it. Someone else comes to the jail door and says something to the detective. The detective tells Ruby, "Hey you're gonna be charged with first degree murder. Oswald is dead." Ruby instantly calms down, stops sweating and looks very relieved. The detective asks him if he wants another cigarette. Ruby says, "Oh, no...I don't smoke." Ruby didn't know until that minute if Oswald was alive or dead. His life depended on him being dead.
