While I was preparing to leave my husband and looking for somewhere to live; my daughter and son in law helped me by offering their unused shed. They knew i loved the whole tiny house movement. @@PreciousPrice very smart indeed. I really liked that you haven't gone overboard like some of those financial tiktokers who spout nonsense regarding real estate and leveraging to have dozens of properties all of which can be foreclosed upon in a crash. If I could change two things it'd be the ceiling space above the bed, like you mentioned, and definitely remove that barn door on the bathroom. It's a cool design touch but more aesthetic than functional. If there's only one person living there it's fine but not great when there's two people there. I stayed in an Airbnb recently with one of those and it means you can't fully close the door to the bathroom (since there's always the gap), which means no sense of real privacy when someone has to use the bathroom. Anyways, just a thought.

@@childishgambino4845 you don't buy ADUs per-se. You build them on an existing property you own. Her parents can move into her tiny house instead of a retirement home, take care of her kids, and they live happily ever after without a banker dipping into their pockets. Obviously luxury apartments are gonna be on the high end. Average cost to share a house/apartment is around $800 plus utilities.

Very cool idea! I am glad she eliminated her credit card debt by now. $20k of debt at an average 23.99% APR for a credit card is over +$400/mo in interest alone. A personal loan (~3-11% APR) may be a better solution for others looking to do this and who don't have the cash on hand.

That's a limited thinking. People like her and I, we use a new credit card that offers 16 months of 0% APR which is better than conventional private loan.

I have so many questions: 1. how did you get a permit to live in a shed in your yard? 2. did you connect plumbing to the main house? 3. was it hard to get permits from the City? 4. don't you need a special permit to run AirBnB? 5. are you still able to claim Homestead if you rent the main house? 6. did you need a special foundation for that shed? 7. What was the total cost for the shed with all installations and upgrades you did incl. windows, plumbing, electricity, insolation, etc. etc. THANK YOU.

This is a smart move! Coming from a couple that is also living small in our travel trailer, it is such a financial freedom to not have to worry about a huge mortgage and renting out her property? Genius! Take notes! Also love how open it is inside with the lighter color, definitely helps to make it feel a bit bigger! Keep it up!

I cant imagine paying $800 a month for only the private space of a bedroom or $1000 a month and still have to share all living space except a bedroom and a bathroom. A 3 bedroom apartment went for $800 a month a couple counties away and a 3 bedroom 2 story house went for $1200 just down the street from me. This was 2 years ago though. Idk if prices have gone up that much in two years or maybe it's a locality thing. I would live in my car though before paying that much. An agreement is an agreement though; if they want to pay so much for so little then so be it.

These Tiny houses are also not allowed to be living quarters in many areas I actually wouldn't be surprised if this is a code violation.
@MichaelGilmoreTV

@@flawaii-pines6858Tiny homes are allowed in every city and state. However, tiny homes on wheels are not. In Atlanta, it is not a code violation. Depending on city codes, they can be built but you must go through the rigors of city planning like other ground up construction.

Totally enjoyed this. Do you sis! Question: Seeing that you built it, couldn’t the loft have been raised higher or were there size restrictions? And are you worried about that tree in front of the main house? We had a decades old tree fell close to ours a while back.
