I have a similar issue. My problem is high blood pressure. I have to take medication everyday to keep it under control, and I have to watch what I eat. In New Mexico, I was actually turned away once from a dentist office. They wouldn't do a routine cleaning on me because they checked my blood pressure and said it was too high. My blood pressure seems to be lower in Arizona and the California coast where elevations are lower. But in Colorado and New Mexico, my blood pressure goes up. I'm a coffee drinker but I don't smoke, do drugs, or consume much alcohol. Fortunately, I live a fairly stress free life living in my truck. So that helps.

I’m type 2 also. I love my Continuous Glucose Monitor- Freestyle Libre 3. The best price is at Sam’s Club- $75 for 2 boxes (lasts a month). Love your video!

Good discussion on managing a medical condition in vehicle. I had fatty liver, pre diabetes for a long time, hypertension and the liver doctor referred me to Stanford’s nutrition clinic in the Tri-Valley area. They helped me with a medically supervised low carbohydrate diet (low carb, medium protein, high healthy fats), I don’t count calories. Meeting with a NP monthly I lost over 100 lbs, almost immediately stopped being pre-diabetic, got rid of fatty liver, and eventually got off high blood pressure medication. I agree it’s hard to keep fresh food while either living or traveling in a vehicle, especially if one has eliminated most highly processed foods. It’s been a couple years and at this point I know where all the decent produce is sold on my traveling routes in Northern California & Oregon. Since I try to have fish once or twice a week to get my Omega-3s, a friend introduced me to wild caught sardines packed in either olive oil or EVOO (now I only cook with EVOO having eliminated all those other oils). I was surprised I like them & stock up when they are on sale.

Great to hear! I’ve lost over 25 lbs since eating per my blood sugar, without trying to lose weight - amazing the difference when eating the right foods that works for one’s own body

I am a type 2 diabetic diagnosed 6 years ago , started on metformin after a year it stopped working been on insulin ever since and it’s so much better! An adjustment for sure, testing is key! What I can tell u is this if you cut carbs except for morning time you’ll be off meds protein keeps your sugars great! Now if metformin stops working and you are on insulin it’s a whole different game!! You take insulin to cover the carbs so your always testing, the medication really doesn’t do much metformin that is it’s more that your watching your carb intake, insulin is cheap insurance covers it , and if no insurance there’s programs you can get it for 20 bucks for month surplus of insulin pens, insulin and exercise, testing watching carbs are the best way to treat diabetes type 1 or type 2 .. ether way diabetes kills you the same. Type 1 means you got it is a kid usually under 18 .. and pancreas don’t work , type 2 usually after 40 and your are insulin resistant..

I am so torn about the statin - it causes me so much body pain and I read it can raise blood sugar and liver numbers 😩 (I am type 2 diabetic as well )

my glucose when from 7.0 last September to 5.3 a month ago, what I did was drink tons of water with the aid of metformin and vasepa 1 a day little to no exercise, and a diet that I tailor to my body type so breakfast McDonalds mac muffin and small coffee with 1 Splenda or stevia, for lunch 1 quesadilla from taco hell and something for dinners like 2 chicken breast and brown rice +/- 130 grams of carbs
