I'm 54. I live in my luxury camper, in ma' 2 acre yard. It's 15 steps front, to back. And my 14 year ole's lab(w/a ramp @ back door) I down sized front brick house, to double wide. Screw the double wide. It sits over there. Nice. But I don't want it. I'm in a canopy of trees, listening to birds daily. I sleep. Also have a single-wide (office space) Also have 6 acres elsewhere. And 2 acres elsewhere. Love my camper. I crochet. And flip things. I've followed you all year. You're sweet. And you look great. You're smart to realize that, this is good for you. And motor on honey. ❤ Happy trails. Love your channel

More power to you but I personally just wouldn't be happy. I love my pets and my little personal spot of my home. I can go out on my porch to hear the birds or I can go into my bedroom with blackout curtains to find quiet and spread out on my bed to sleep. I can go to my kitchen and fix my own food from where I store it when I need it without having to driving somewhere in the middle of the night if I would like a cold drink from my fridge. I enjoy watching a good movie with a bowl of popcorn wrapped in my favorite blanket with my cats. But I am glad your happy.

I can’t wait until the rent goes down ! People living on SSI & SSD & limited income cannot afford to live in even a studio. It’s terrible. My Daughter shares rent with 2 others and it’s still a struggle . The prices of food and non food essentials it’s so expensive.

Yes, I completely agree with you about all of this, but have not found a job that could provide for me on the road. Yes the day I can find this I am doing exactly what you’re doing. Also, where do you stay at night? I’ve often thought about, staying at harvest host, but they don’t allow people to sleep in their vehicles. So I just would like to know where you find places to stay when you’re traveling across the country. Thanks so much really enjoy your videos. You are very inspirational. !

When I'm on the road, my top spot (in the west and midwest) is a rest stop - free, simple, has bathrooms. Sometimes I stay at walmart (but not every one can allow because of local laws or the parking lot owner rules) or at a random spot I find on ioverlander

I feel like I do a lot of the same things, but I live in a townhome. I hike all the time in the Appalachians, travel, take road trips every couple weeks, move to new states. I know California has extremely high rents and maybe having a townhome or apartment is more of a burden there.

Currently camping out in my truck in Idaho Falls, Idaho, where the weather is fairly cool. I just spent two weeks in Montana, and before that, I drove along the Oregon and Washington coasts and took pictures, and I'm hoping to go on a cruise in a few months. Because I live in my truck, I don't pay rent, utilities, and propery taxes which means I'm able to save good money while living like the rich.

I drive a semi and when I used to be an over the road driver a big thing was an igloo cooler that plugged into 12volts plugged and kept it no with NO ICE needed so you can keep so much more food. Have you ever seen or contemplated buying that ?
@elizabethoffgrid
@elizabethoffgrid 13 сағат бұрын
I've tried two different 12v fridges and I found them hard to manage between keeping them powered and also throwing errors and breaking. But I imagine that a semi would work well because you can use that to power. For me, my car is rarely running so I have to use a power station to keep a 12v fridge running.

Thanks. I have a 25' class C. High gas consumption and it is true about always needing maintenance. Great for long term stays and travel. I'm transitioning to an apartment and part time travel. Subaru Forester is on my list of options. High clearance and skid plates are a plus for me. A mini-van would be great but not on dirt roads. Can you put a lift kit on a Honda Odyssey - LOL. Great video. Super helpful.✨️✨️✨️

Things like a sewing machine can be sold on Market Place, CraigsList, etc... Then when the time comes that you're setup for a sewing machine you can buy a used sewing machine on the same sites. I do that with construction tools. In general my net cost is $0. Some tools I can't find used so have to buy new. I look at this as storing things in other people's homes. I suspect the cost of the storage until is a lot more than the value of the stuff if you were to sell the things of value but aren't used. I was in the same boat once.
