This jeeps have several retention spots for anchoring. Use hinges There are also moving blankets about this size... running @ 4.00 ea at harbor freight. Subded... looking forward for more ideas!

Good video, I like the screen idea. We sleep in our 2015 2 dr JK (bed is at the same height) on top of a security box with bed panels that deploy fwd from the box. Pillows are against the seats pushed to the dash. A lot of posts say it's too short, I'm 6-2, my wife is 5-9.. works for us.. and there's plenty of storage too. My only complaint, I can't carry my 400 lb MC on the hitch.

YAAAASSSSSSS! Thank you SOOOOOO very much for this vid! Exactly what I was looking for (and debating for weeks now....). :D It's Winter here in Ohio, I recently almost had a 'Smash n Grab', I believe, with my 2018 4-Door JKU (Driver side glass, front door... not even 'Slash n Grab' w/ my perma soft top...). I was VERY lucky to approach a suspicious character outside of a Wallymart just in time. Uhhhh, he was lucky too, he left when he saw me coming... ;) I've been contemplating a solution and trying to figure out best options for my upcoming intentions. I acquired the Tuffy security storage product already having seen it several times in the past and will be installing (especially now that I've seen this vid :) shortly here. My HUGE debate was this exactly... I've seen several low, med, and high level sleeping platforms for the JKU Jeep as I intend to do ALOT of camping this year while sleeping in my vehicle. I had a personal debate as to functionality, storage, open-air jeep security, and actual sleeping space (average guy, 6 ft.). Of course, Jeep Religion = top off, empty vehicle. You helped me solidify my plans for the Spring, I'm doing 100% delete in the back and intend to build a platform that compliments the Tuffy box and affords me additional storage from the rear doors and a comfortable sleeping space. Your video proved to me that it was possible and gave me a general idea of the sleeping space vs. security/storage that I was concerned with. Again, THANKS a ton for your info! Jeep Wave, -Bob

Hey I did the same thing with my 2014 JKU. Built mine exclusively out of plywood. I went ahead and took the rear seat out, that freed up loads of room for heavy gear such as a Yeti all my food just about everything keeps the center of gravity low. I have a tiny roof rack for large light objects, (traction mats a shovel and a cople of chairs, but everthing else fits outa sight under the bed. You are the only other person I've seen do a vid on this. Got the memory foam from Walmart. Been sleeping in it like that for years. I'll do a walk around and link it to you. good job.

This is what i used. It has a Y grove that you put the edge of your window in and you slowly roll your window up to provide pressure on the gaurd.

I’m curious how tall are you? Im 5’8” and although I sleep in my 2019 wrangler too with seats all the way forward but my feet do hit the tailgate. I find that annoying. I wish the front seats could go forward just another inch or two. I would imagine in order to do this I would have to install a custom seat slide that’s longer. I also wish I could remove the headrests in the back seat to permit more space below the seats when they are down.
@PreparedAirman
@PreparedAirman 3 жыл бұрын
I'm 5"10". Personally I haven't had that issue before but they may have changed the geometry or the seats around in recent years or something.
