Hi Jason… I love your mama! Lindy, he has your smile 🤗. I kept up with my daughter’s location driving from Arkansas to Florida and back. Very good advice Jason has given. You may get to it before the videos over but always back in so driving away is quicker. It’s good to go over everything even those things that are common sense or to some seems obvious. My daddy has always left his pants with keys & wallet right beside his bed. I lived in a dangerous city for a year in an apartment as a single mom with a 7 and 5 yr old. The bedrooms were upstairs but I kept a backpack with extra clothes for all of us and I kept my clothes n purse by my bed like my daddy does his pants. I appreciate you and your son Jason. Nice of your son to take the time to give his opinion on safety issues. You mentioned he was going to talk about cameras. I watched a video awhile ago can’t remember the channel. But they used back up cameras for security inside the van. But had them hooked up to where the monitor could be set up in the living area of the van. I thought what a great idea. And cost effective too. Might be something for him to look into.

That was a great interview!! I share my location with my sister and my daughter, so they know I'm ok, and they can check to see where I'm parked. I know they worried about me in the beginning, and now they just see how happy I am, living the life I want, even if it's currently part time.

I enjoyed your interview with your son. He brought up excellent points. I have friends who live in sticks and bricks who have no clue what town they are in when they go out. They follow the same route, and go to the same places. Worse yet, they don't drive any more and don't care how they got there. They would never think to park facing forward and having multiple exit points. I often go out with my older friend. She babysits her great-grandbaby, and the household doesn't have any landline. She loses her voice when she gets anxious. She refuses to take the cellphone her kids got her, and doesn't know how to unlock my phone or go to the contacts. I beg her to learn how to use the cell phone in case something happens to the baby. I'm older, too, and I tell her my phone may be dying, or not have service, and her's may have it. Something could happen to me (the driver), and she would need to call for help. I think it's a losing battle!

Loved this video. It has some very useful information in it even for vacations. I think you should also know where the police department is every where you stop. I had some guys following me one time and I could not lose them so I drove straight to the police station and just sat there in the parking lot for awhile and somehow they just disappeared. lol Thank you Officer Jason for your service. I don't know what we would do with out law enforcers and I believe you all are the most bravest people I have ever known or known of. You risked your life every day you had that uniform on, no matter what part of the department you worked in, but anyway, thank you.

He is not comfortable with some of my choices and worries about my safety when I am on my own. So I get that you have little control over Lindy's van life decision. Another thing you can do if someone is trying to break into your van is to use the panic button on your key fob while you are getting into the driver seat to move to safety. Just a thought as I am 70 and that is one option I keep in mind.

Yes.. please share your location with your son permanently so he will always know where you are in case he can’t reach you or doesn’t hear from you. It is for your and his peace of mind. My son lives in the city of DC. He is single and alone. He shares his location with me for my peace of mind. It may sound nuts but we live in a nutty world. I’m glad you have family and your son seems like a good guy and cares for you.
