I wouldn't live in Alexandria, but the quality of life around there is fantastic! Each neighborhood has their own personality as well.

I would not live on any land that was part of Potomac Yards. Grew up by the Yard, 1950-70, the ground was soak with oil, coal dust and tanker cars leaking.
