Living in Malta, this is the difference between City life and Village life. I have created this video to show you 2 sides of Malta, one is living in a city which is close to all restaurants, bars, malls, connections around Malta. However the cons of living in Malta in the central area is the constant noise and construction works. From the other side we have Zurrieq, a village in Malta that is predominantly with local people. This side of Malta is beautiful, it is very quite and with less construction. I made a choice to buy an apartment in Zurrieq and its the best decision i made.

I'm a Zurrieq local and unfortunately not a lot of people even mention Zurrieq or knowing where it is (yes even Maltese people barely know where it is or even visited Zurrieq). Thank you for showing appreciation and love for my village .

Zurrieq is the most beautiful village in Malta for me, the charm that Zurrieq has is unique, just seeing the locals soaking the sun at the square and gathering for tea in the nearby bars😍majestic

My mother is originally from Zurrieq and it makes me proud of the fact that I spent most of my childhood days here. I'm so glad you love Zurrieq. It's definitely one of the best places in Malta and every year, I reunite with all my family to go celebrate the Santa Katarina festa

I visit Zurrieq often: it is quiet, just 20min walk to the Sea(Blue Grotto), there are at least 3 fish shops: Aragosta Fishshop, Mareblu Gourmet Fish Shop and La Spigola Fish Shop Zurrieq.

Lived in Zurrieq my whole life, got married June of last year and still living in Zurrieq (husband from Fgura), we both just love it here so peaceful and recently with all the establishments and the internet we rarely need to travel to the North, which honestly we try to avoid 😁 Thanks for showing my road Alex, simply beautiful ❤️

I would choose a traditional house in the countryside! Gorgeous! I’m heading back to St Paul’s Bay on Wednesday for another week holiday. I was there in December. I really like it there. Much more quiet than Sliema area. If I win the lottery, I’m going to buy a farm on Gozo. Super quiet away from everyone. Just me and the dogs. I love your videos Alex. I'm in the same position, I've live in Malta for 8 years, lived in a few places. Some I've loved, some I've hated. I knew Zurrieq a little having lived near by, but it wasn't until I ran their 2019 Half Marathon until I fell in love with the place. Like most small towns and villages, Zurrieq is beautiful. But the people I meet and talk to that day, made it my only choice for where to make my home.

I lived there for a couple of year after moving from Luton in the UK. 2 years in Siggiewi undid the damage that 20 years in that insanity put on my sole. It would be cool to meet up some time and compare notes on being an expat in Malta. :) as we're now locals.

EXCELLENT & WELL ARTICULATED COMPARISON ALEX 👏. I would prefer a combo of BOTH : beautiful old ST PAUL'S BAY Village area 🌊🌿😍. For something quieter how about MANIKATA or even MGARR village? 🤔 - but then I'm biased towards the NORTH ☺. One final point Alex, you are right, in a place like ZURRIEQ you've got an "identity & a feeling of belonging", which would have been non existent in "busy" GZIRA .. I arrived in Malta 3 weeks ago and I’m renting a 2 bedroom flat in Buggiba now. I myself lived in central Doha, Qatar with all the super tall high rises for 4 years after 12midnight Doha is very silent already I can already say that Malta is a party place with all those pubs in every street corner for a very tiny country

Pls go to Fgura sometimes!!! I know its nothing there basically, but it was the city I lived for a year, and I just miss it!! Any anyways its local, cheaper, and quite good transportation wise, so it could be a good video topic about affordable living when choosing a city in malta!!! :D

Anyway I'm looking forward to see your good and bad of each place. I really like the countryside houses , as they have a little yard or garden in front of the house and looks a bit British type housing , wondering how much is the rent in that area where you live? would be lovely to know the range for house or apartment with 2-3 bed with two bathrooms at least. Hey dear. You can find a job, But not in Zurrieq, this is more of a residential area. You can also rent a beautiful townhouse for 800-900e
