I've seen others use several 1x2 strips of wood under mattresses on boats to prevent the moisture. I don't think it's just from the leak, it's the moisture from being that close to the water in general.

I can't imagine being trapped so to speak with a child and my spouse in such a confined space , but your holding it together nicely ! Are you staying in the Great Lakes or heading out to the Ocean , personally would head south before winter ! lol. Can you get to the Ohio or Mississippi rivers from where your at ? Maybe Chicago theres a way ?

Hahah yeah it's not everyone's cup of tea for sure. I think for us, the size of space isn't what's been challenging, it's the ongoing projects, so the boat is constantly in chaos. We've had it put away and functional a few times and that's been pretty wonderful... Holding on to that. We're planning to over-winter on the boat in Lake Ontario and then late spring/early summer next year we're off on our adventure south!
