Жыл бұрынI've been romanticising living in the countryside regularly, until I learnt how to enjoy my local area in London and make the most of it. Eventually I reflected on what I value in my environment and I came to the conclusion that living in the city still offers me more benefits right now, so I remain happy in my urban surroundings 🌼. We're lucky to have many green havens around us in London and residential neighbourhoods tucked away from the city can be quiet and peaceful.

What do you enjoy most about the area you live in? I believe feeling happy with where we live is so important to our mental health and peace of mind. This is such a lovely, relaxing video! I live in Brooklyn and Brooklyn is such an ideal place to live! We’re in NY after all but it’s not too busy like Manhattan. I enjoy my neighborhood which has many small independent shops, restaurants, cafes, and many parks😊

The best place in the small town I live in is the coast. I don't know why, but whenever I feel anxious, worried, overwhelmed or stressed, I take a walk there and it immediately changes my mood. It's nice and refreshing. I have found that I need to live in a place where I can see the ocean or some kind of place with water to feel calm. I love your videos, they are amazing and make me think about so many things. Since I started watching them, I appreciate my little city a little more, so thank you so much. Hugs from Andalusia

Ahh... Cats, books, tea, gardening and woodland walks. Such loveliness! Your home is so pretty. My chronic illness is flaring right now, leaving me feeling a bit tired and low, but this truly cheered me up. I'm looking forward to seeing my lavender and rosemary (hopefully) grow this summer. I too like to smell the smell of a new book, like you too, I like it so much when I buy a new book, sit on the sofa and drink a good herbal tea and read my new book quietly, these are part of my moments of relaxation. .

@@quiet_tales you re welcome , yes we have the same ritual of smelling the smell of the new book , i find that smelling the smell of a new book is just magical Since I started watching your videos, I too have applied to my life to settle down, to give myself moments where I sit quietly with a good book and enjoy, to tell you not long ago I I made a real hot chocolate where I took the time to melt the chocolate in a saucepan and to appreciate and smell the good smell of the chocolate that melted in the saucepan and then I sat on the sofa and tasted my hot chocolate reading a good book and throwing myself so well, and spanking it I thought back to your videos where you spanked the same, and I told myself that I threw myself into following you and seeing your videos which now also makes me want to do like you to take advantage of this allow moments to oneself, because before I never did that, and now I realize that it is important to have these moments where we think of ourselves or where we relax and take the time to appreciate life and those little things. thank you

Thanks for sharing this! I think many of us believe that you must leave the city and live in the woods to lead an authentic life. I know i've felt the struggle many times, but then I also think about all the amazing things a big city has to offer, from bookshops, to theatres, to music events, to many different types of food (especially if you have specific dietary requirements). This was really relatable to me ❤

I loved living in London, so I was thrilled to find your video suggested in my feed. These days, I live in the heart of Philadelphia, another large city, and find joy in the slower pace too. Like you, I enjoy my outdoor space, plants, pet (dog), food, and books. Writing also feeds my soul. Like you, I've contemplated leaving the city for the suburbs, but I don't know if I'd be happy. I dream of a lovely English village, but that won't happen. Anyway, lovely home - thank you for sharing! :)

I try to live a slow simple life as much as I can. I live in a small town in East TN. We have about 5 or 6,000 people in our little town. I love where I live because no matter where I look I see mountains. Our town is in a valley & we have a river that runs through it. Very beautiful. Looking forward to watching more of your videos!! Thank you for sharing, I love watching your videos I kind of love living in Paris's suburbs because there is less people, but I kind of miss the grass and the birds. One thing that change my life is having a balcony in quiet street. I love reading and just be here and do nothing.

You make everything look so restfull, i try....lol. i love your balcony, mine is just pale grey concrete and has lots of mucky puddles, and worst of all, its not separate from neighbours so i get no privacy 😢. I loved how Momo had a sniff of the book after you 😻 i thought his head would get stuck inside the snack jar, so funny 😹😹. Thankyou for sharing.

I like in Minneapolis and feel like the city is a great place for slow living. It has many great parks (i believe the city won an award for the best park system in the United States) and lakes so its easy to get into nature. Theres big city activities such as museums, restaurants, stores and bars so its a city where you can escape into nature but experience city living in a balanced way.

Such a beautiful and relaxing video to watch. It was also a great reminder that you can still have a slow/quiet life in the city. While I've only ever lived in the suburbs myself (of smaller cities) we are about to move to an apartment to a much busier suburb and I've been concerned about the noisiness and the fact we're moving away from that countryside ideal, so this was a great reminder to focus on what living there will offer me (being able to walk to shop, close to the ocean and lovely walks by the harbour). I guess like with many things, it's all about compromise and then focussing on the good things.

So wonderful. I would like to see more of the same. I travel to London from Oregon every year to enjoy everything it has to offer, sometimes for months. You are so lucky. It has been my dream to live there so long but the UK is very strict about citizenship.

I moved to a very small country town (because my brothet owned a house there i could rent, otherwise i wouldnt have chosen that town because its an ugly smelly abattoir town with about 1200 people) to get some peace away from the city. After 6 months i felt like i had achieved the peace & i moved back to the city after 11 months. I realised that i rely heavily on convenience. I want to be close to the shops & cafes & to be closer to people i like to spend time with. My fantasy about moving to a country cottage never went away but i know for certain thats not an appropriate lifestyle for me. Holidays only. Balconies make a huge difference to wellbeing as well.

Depuis les confinements en France, le cahier des charges des nouvelles résidences stipule que les appartements devront tous avoir au moins un balcon. Et c'est heureux (que la leçon soit apprise). Je crois que vous parlez ou êtes même d'origine française, j'en profite pour vous remercier pour votre partage que KZfaq a eu il y 2-3 mois la bonne idée de me suggérer. Merci pour ces moments calmes et beaux, et le sous-titrage qui fait réfléchir, voire réconforte (puisque je suis assez similaire dans mon fonctionnement -- et dans la manière de décorer mon logement aussi !!) PS : bien appréciée cette balade dans London où j'ai reconnu quelques endroits ;)

Thank you so much! This is what it returned when I typed the ingredients in the search bar, salmon poke bowls, but the sauce was never exactly like yours. I've tried your pasta from "Self-care routine on a cold day" and it turned out so delicious that I saved the video and will cook it with modifications depending on the season. I fell in love with the chai too and make it often. I appreciate your content and I like to watch you videos on a larger screen like my laptop because of the little details.

Hello, they only bite the ones that aren't toxic to them. I leave them to it and learnt to accept some plants won't make it 😅. Often they get bored after a nibble or two anyway :). I also distract them with cat grass or potted catnip in the summer.
